The publisher of former President Biden’s forthcoming memoir reportedly paid around a $10 million advance for the book.

Hachette Book Group paid the roughly $10 million figure to Biden for the book to be published by its Little, Brown & Co., The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.

Creative Artists Agency, which represents Biden, declined ITK’s requests for comment, while the publisher did not immediately respond.

In 2017, a bidding war for the global rights to two books from former President Obama and Michelle Obama reportedly topped $60 million.

Former President Clinton received a $15 million advance for his 2004 autobiography “My Life,” according to multiple reports.

They will just hand it off to Hillary’s ghost writer, she is adept at manufacturing memoirs. Joe doesn’t have the capacity and Jill doesn’t care to do anything herself. They will take the money and run, and that will be ok. This is all understood by whoever is underwriting the project.

That’s as much as 20 Hunter paintings! One of the people who control these literary slush funds has decided to have mercy on the old bastard. But also, remember those stories from a couple months ago that the Bidens want revenge on the rats who turned on them and plan to do it in books.

What a waste of Money

Certainly not for Biden. Just a payback for services rendered (i.e. billions in "green" funding) while in the White House.

It ought to be titled “My word as a Biden, ah, uh, er, pfft, the thing...nevermind.”

It’ll be a 10 page pamphlet printed in 36 point font.

Yes, but Joe/Jill must really be pissed.
Obama and Michelle got $60MM.
6X as much as the kid from Scanton.

I do not recall what previous POTUS got for their ghost written books.
Obviously, NO ONE reads these POTUS books other than a few true believers. They are just a way to launder a pay off to the past POTUS. If you just do the simple math based on the amount of copies sold multiplied by the cost/book there is NEVER a profit to the publishing company in these deals.
Especially, when you consider how many end up on the discount table at Costco or Barns & Noble.

One thing we know for sure, Joe won't be the author.

These book deals are payouts and ex-post-facto bribes.

Politicians are entitled to write books. It is often a good exercise if done with serious reflection. A very, very few of them are honest and thoughtful enough to be worth reading.

But there should be an absolute prohibition of advances, which have become the open door to payoffs. Which is why so many pols pretend to write wretched books that won’t sell 500 copies to real buyers.

Yes, but Joe/Jill must really be pissed. Obama and Michelle got $60MM.

Amy Schumer got 9 million for her memoir "The Girl with the lower back tattoo".

Will the publisher really sell 300000 copies of Amy Schumer’s book.

$9MM divided by $30/book = 300,000 copies just to break even. Plus you have the printing cost, ghost writer, editors, etc.
Yes, many of those “copies” are now electronic. So, there is not printing cost.

Are there that may copies of a book written by a B/C woman comedian/actress?

Where do these publishing companies get the funds for these big advances to these political figures? I’m assuming that they know they will never be able to recoup the money they offer as an advance. So where does the money come from?

What with democrat support numbers that publisher is foolish and it will bomb like other books written by democrat politicians.

Their loss.
