If he is accurate, and he usually is on the ponderous workings of the legal system, there is good reason to believe this is going to get pretty heavy.
A word of caution. The federal legal system is a slow moving glacier, so we must not get impatiently discouraged.

Nixon never went to trial either, but the negative publicity wrecked the GOP for decades; they didn’t get the House back until 1994.
If you actually look at the history US treason trials without armed conflict they have been mostly failures.
As far as military tribunals go, do you really want to establish that precedent in modern times? In the near future the Ratlanders will be back in power. The voting public is that foolish and fickle! Do you disagree? A recent precedent of military tribunals will give them a tool you really don’t want them to have.
Why does anyone think that a military tribunal is more honest then our current legal system? Does the name Miley ring any bells? Historically military tribunals lead to dictatorships! Ratlanders given the chance would never dismiss them. Trials would end up being like something out of the French or Russian revolutions. Ask yourself those who advocate this, is your goal justice or revenge?
