No, Donald Trump’s claim that New York City mayoral candidate’s platform is akin to communism is false, experts say.
Zohran Mamdani, the 33-year-old who soared to the lead in the New York City mayoral Democratic primary, describes himself as a democratic socialist. But some politicians and social media posts falsely labelled him a communist.
President Donald Trump called Mamdani “a 100% Communist Lunatic”, in a June 25 Truth Social post.

Those from the former Eastern Bloc revealed they saw very little difference between Socialists and the Communists. In theory everything leads to communism and the path to that is all political slavery government and death to individual liberty.
In the long history of totalitarians, Mohammed supersedes all. Worldwide the philosophy of Islam has never been stronger. Civilization suffers as it is exterminated in locations around the planet.
It certainly looks like it, but notice that we are saying “communist,” not “Communist.” For a very long time, the debate was over whether someone was a member of a Communist Party loyal to Moscow (or Peking or Belgrade or Tirana or Havana or Hanoi). Now it’s about whether someone favors replacing capitalism with a post-capitalist system without private ownership.
Is Mamdani a Marxist? He’s more of one than a lot of people who’ve been called that here, and he may even literally be a Marxist.
