NEW YORK, July 15, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- A new poll from HarrisX finds the New York City mayoral race shaping up to be a tight and competitive contest, with Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani statistically tied with former Governor Andrew Cuomo and Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa in a four-way race. While Mamdani leads Mayor Eric Adams in a head-to-head race, the poll shows Cuomo defeating the Democratic nominee by a wide 15-point margin in a one-on-one contest.

In a four-way race, Mamdani (26 percent) is tied with Cuomo (23 percent) and Sliwa (22 percent), all within the margin of error. Adams is at 13 percent and 15 percent of voters are undecided.

In a three-way race without Adams, Cuomo (31 percent) is statistically tied with Mamdani (29 percent) and Sliwa (28 percent).

In a three-way race without Cuomo, Mamdani leads by 10 points, winning 35 percent to Sliwa's 25 percent and Adams' 19 percent.

If Silwa somehow wins from the left side being crowded, that would be wild but there’s no way.

Soon to be seen in NYC in front of Jewish owned shops: pink hatted toughs with signs posted saying, “Americans, don’t buy from Jews!”

Any poll in New York City that does not sample illegals and dead people is of no value

Ranked choice voting pretty much makes that impossible.

There is no RCV in the NYC general election for mayor. Only in the primaries.

Thanks. I didn’t know that.

Can democracy survive a system where the guy with the most votes wins?

It’s important to have a Republican on the ballot, and that should happen in every large city mayoral election. At some point, if big cities are going to survive, the elections need to be competitive.

Sliwa is too weird to win.

Agreed...unfortunately, I think it COULD be Adams. He at least seems to want to work with Trump on the illegals issue.

As I’ve said, the GOP should have a handsome, charismatic candidate like John Lindsay.

They seem to have had no choices and that meant Sliwa is there by default. People seem to shrug and say they’re not interested. Should be someone to fire up the opposition to Mamdani.

The beret is the equivalent of a “character tag” in fiction writing. A way to help the reader distinguish among minor characters. In a noir mystery novel—The guy with the limp. The guy who smokes a pipe. The guy who whistles a lot.

This beret should be ditched. now.

Adams should back Sliwa and try to get over 1/3 and win.

No RCV for general, cool! Then get Adams to drop out and we dodge a bullet. At least Sliwa as he has no chance and with no rcv he has even less chance.

They seem to have had no choices

The NYS state GOP is deader than a doornail. They keep electing Ed Cox (Nixon SIL) who is about the worst ever.

With no RCV, sliwa needs to drop out, if any of his voters still vote, it won’t be the muscum. According to this poll either of the other 2 dems will win with a little extra support. No sliwa voters will go to the muscum.
