US-born Indians embracing Indian roots more strongly: Carnegie report
India Today ^ | July 15, 2025 | Staff

Indian Americans born in the US are displaying a marked increase in cultural and identity-based affinity with their Indian heritage, with 86% taking pride in calling themselves "Indian-American", according to a new report by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

This is a significant increase from the 2020 report, when 70% of US-born Indian American respondents said that being Indian was "very" or "somewhat" important to them. At the same time, the percentage of those who considered their Indian identity unimportant was halved – from 30% to just 15%, according to the report.

The Indians who came here from 1960-something to, say the mid 90s were a totally different breed—hell, CASTE, even—than the ones from the mid 90s to now. These are majority creepy men who wear dirty clothes and touch their peepees whenever a nice looking white woman enters the store. The new Indian women want no part of anmeican culture (I can’t blame them in some part) and are obnoxious and insular. And the second and third generation children of the ones who did come in “the golden age” are getting radicalized by college and social media and the backlash they are facing because of their behavior and lack of assimilation.

and when they see blacks acting black, and the dysfunction of these diverse communities, and these Indians are (with us govt money) building businesses and hustling 24/7 there comes a sense of arrogance towards natives, too.

we have enough Indians, bottom line. Especially in big business. They gotta go, but Daddy MAGA LOVES THEM!

My ox is doing better than my wildest dreams. That is why have voted straight Republican in every election since 1972.

I am simply pointing out which party posts more hateful posts against Indian Americans. If such facts bother you, there is nothing more I wish to discuss with you.

I do not understand why you claim my two posts are hateful.

I posted basic and easily verified facts.

Asian Indian American engineers and scientists come here via H-1B visas.

They work hard and cheap for six years, at which point their USA employer sponsors them for a Green Card, which can take another couple hard and cheap years.

95% of them are completely average scientists and engineers who take jobs away from completely average USA born scientists and engineers.

Completely average Asian Indian MDs and dentists receive automatic Green Cards, and they instantly displace completely average American MDs and dentists.

When they become citizens, 80% of them vote exactly like they voted in India - Socialist!

And, for some reason, you believe all this is a good idea?

Sorry I picked on you instead of the several other hateful posts. From what I recall you post mainly facts and statistics. Please forgive my haste.

Several million native born American engineers, scientists, and medical doctors, have been displaced by Asian Indians, who work longer hours, for less pay.

In a nutshell, this is how the H1B program works for High Tech:

Bob works as a computer programmer or system administrator, and earns 100K a year. Management decides its time to replace Bob with Rajneesh, who will do the same job for 50K a year. So Bob's position is terminated and renamed/reclassified under 50K pay, and Rajneesh is hired in his place. But not before Bob spends his last days at the office training Rajneesh, otherwise Bob won't get his pittance of severance pay.

I believe every productive immigrant benefits the country as a whole. There are no unemployed doctors in USA. If anything, there is shortage of medical schools and shortage of scholarships for American students. That is why we are forced to import so many doctors. Without them many seniors will have tough time receiving medical services.

I am much angrier at having to support 30+ million unvetted illegals, most sucking at the teat of welfare. That is what costs me tax money, not the cheaper doctor or dentist or computer programmer. Those productive people boost my 401-k’s and keep my taxes lower.

It’s thanks to our education system that de-emphasises integration, and rewards people to being “multi-cultural”.

You are describing capitalism. I guess you prefer government controlling who should be hired by corporations. That is fascism, pure and simple.

So your stated position is that we should have open borders to any and all comers regardless of origin or ability to assimilate, as long as the immigrants or "guest workers" provide cheap labor. That's the position of liberal Democrats, pure and simple (as is calling your ideological opponents "fascists").

Are you drunk? I am virulently against anything illegal.
I am fine with LEGAL & PRODUCTIVE immigrants who work and pay taxes.

So in other words, open the borders to any and all that provide cheap labor. More or less the mantra of Jeb Bush, i.e. "they do the work Americans won't do".

There is not labor shortage in America, what you have instead are moneyed interests who resent the fact that they have to pay American wages to American workers rather than outsourcing production to the Third World or insourcing the Third World through liberal immigration policies.

Unfortunately for them and for people like you, there is no birthright for Third World people to cross borders without immigration restrictions or for goods to cross borders without taxation through tariffs.

You obviously have not worked in manufacturing high quality products. Where I worked, I pioneered use of computer controlled manufacturing and we had chronic shortage of qualified workers.

BS! They can hold onto their arranged marriages and smelly curry BO back in their own country.

I don't personally know of any who endorse this kind of behavior. I know of quite a few Americans who have been convicted of sex crimes against children.

Only people who want to be American should be allowed in this country.

They can hold on to their heritage and still be Americans. I'm assuming you have no problem with Americans of German, Italian, or Greek decent holding on to their food choices and part of their cultures. Why is it wrong when Indians do it?

You think wrong.

Restrict immigration only to those wishing to become Americans.

Is this some kind of joke or gotcha post? American culture is influenced by cultures from all over the world now.
