Coffee potentially reduces epigenetic age by up to one year in regular coffee drinkers, but its effectiveness hinges entirely on how you brew it. In this episode, I outline precisely how coffee reduces DNA damage, a key driver of cancer and cellular aging, and why choosing filtered coffee over methods like French press significantly lowers cholesterol risk. I’ll discuss exactly which beans and roasts pack the highest antioxidant punch, plus a practical tip on a specific supplement that amplifies coffee’s cognitive benefits. You’ll also learn the truth about mycotoxins in coffee and why adding dairy can blunt coffee’s immediate cognitive-boosting effects.
Nice!! I’ve been percolating forever with a short and sad period of drip.
But every perker has come 2nd hand or better from thrifts and yard sales. I have a collection.
I actually prefer stovetop perking but babysitting it is anxiety provoking :)
I am not watching this video and so remain clueless about beneficial methodology.
Bkmk
I start my day with a quad shot of fresh ground french roast or espresso roast delivered from my Starbucks Barista. I may have a second one a little later.
Love your screen name.
You must be a Kant transcendental idealist.
I use a drip type coffee maker and grind my own beans. Greatly improves the flavor. SIL#2 got me into pourovers, but they’re more work in the morning. The Colonel’s Wife and I pretty much just drink decaf these days because caffeine makes her jittery.
“My father in law drank nothing but coffee and lived to be 99 years old.”
Ditto for my mom. She and Dad drank coffee from waking up to bedtime. Dad died at 86; Mom went three months before her 100th birthday.
Let’s just say that my choice of screen name was driven by my wry sense of humor. Thanks for getting it.
“I found I was drinking coffee to hydrate.”
Doesn’t coffee DEhydrate?
I drink it all day long, but try to remember to drink water, too. Not a fan of water, but ya gotta.
“Between the smell of wood smoke and fresh coffee, I was in Heaven.”
Sounds wonderful. Well written.
thanks
looked up a recipe
just takes patience
“I’m strictly grind dark roast fresh and drink it black”
That’s me, too.
best article ever..
My dad gets this dark roast “Peetes” (I think that’s the name) and it’s Heavenly ..... two in the morning and one in the afternoon.
Different antioxidants go diffent places and do different things.
long winded chick but knowledgeable.
I skipped around. At least one important finding for me at 16:20. Filtered coffee reduces diterpenes which are compounds found in coffee that can raise cholesterol.
I’ll keep doing what I’m doing. Thanks for posting.
I like my coffee the same as my women . . cold and bitter. A wee touch of the Jameson in my coffee so that it can perk me up. I greet my wife in the morning with mugs and kisses.
Weird, the word ‘accepted’ about the data used about coffee as an antioxidant led you to what sounds like a mockery of Christianity, something you reject.
Dude, it’s just humor!
Pluswhich, the following recent post:
“ I’m in favor of all religions except one that believes it is commanded to murder me.
All the rest are more or less fine. They’re not mine, and they all rely on faith like I do.
Christianity is a fine religion. Its adherents behave well and achieve great success. If I were to pick a second favorite, that would be it.
But I was raised with no particular form or strength or belief in Christianity. When Judaism found me in the person of my first wife, I found it fit my belief system and world view so well, I mostly adopted it (See About page).
But I don’t go calling myself some weird name. I call myself a Jew, and everyone knows my caveats.
So when an original Jew goes and converts to Christianity, I think that’s all well and good. They’re welcome to it, and we’re good brethren in the modern world.
But this “Messianic Jew” seems a word salad avoiding real meaning. They’re Christian converts, so far as I can tell. No need for extra words or positioning about that. It just strikes me as strange.
But they’re welcome to it!”

No one gets hurt.
Thats a huge benefit around my house.

There was mockery in the post, I’ll agree, but it was aimed at my own coffee addiction, using Christian imagery as a foil.
No offense intended to my good Christian brethren! Please accept my apology for the inadvertent offense caused.
