Best video summarizing the benefits of drinking coffee by Dr Rhonda Patrick

Coffee potentially reduces epigenetic age by up to one year in regular coffee drinkers, but its effectiveness hinges entirely on how you brew it. In this episode, I outline precisely how coffee reduces DNA damage, a key driver of cancer and cellular aging, and why choosing filtered coffee over methods like French press significantly lowers cholesterol risk. I’ll discuss exactly which beans and roasts pack the highest antioxidant punch, plus a practical tip on a specific supplement that amplifies coffee’s cognitive benefits. You’ll also learn the truth about mycotoxins in coffee and why adding dairy can blunt coffee’s immediate cognitive-boosting effects.

I like my morning coffee (enjoying my second cup right now!).
But for an antioxidant “punch”, I prefer blueberries (and yogurt)...

It is very comprehensive.

I’ve been researching this topic for many years. There is much to understand about the biochemistry of coffee and how it influences the brain and body.

While there are a few warnings, this article is very positive about the health benefits of coffee.

Coffee is very beneficial for older people, reducing risk of dementia and Parkinsons.

I accepted coffee as somewhat beneficial health wise back in the 1990s.

I drink coffee. But I read of a Swedish study which said that too much coffee can induce glaucoma.

My father in law drank nothing but coffee and lived to be 99 years old.

I accepted Coffee into my life in June of 1978, as a revelation of the nature of the universe. Coffee is truly eye opening and mind expanding. I worship at the altar of my stovetop coffee roaster, and pray daily to the caffeine gods imbued by my French Press. Truly, Coffee is my Salvation, and won’t you come with me to Starbucks to enjoy the brotherhood?

2 cups of my high octane brew every morning and I’m ready to tackle the world. I add about a tablespoon of my homemade vanilla extract to the pot and a little cream in my mug. Yum.

We just swi5ched back to a percolator type, and wow, forgot how smooth it made coffee. Non of the bitterness- I even started drinking it black just because I like the taste without sugar and cream now. Here is the one we got. Had it 6 months now, works great.

It’s more work than the pod kinds, but the taste is a lot better. Imo. We use a coffee filter in it, and apparently it cuts way down on the oils/bitterness. Gotta poke holes in the filters though, but not a big deal.

I too make vanilla extract using Madagascar beans and high octane vodka. Thanks for the idea. I will try it.

I also tried replacing the cream with coconut oil, but it didn’t pass.

I was an extreme coffee addict until recently. The caffeine destroyed the diamine oxidase enzyme in my body that led to high histamines and extreme inflamation in my sinuses, neck lungs and gut. Also heart arrhythmia.

I found I was drinking coffee to hydrate. So now I drink water early morning ( I’m usually up around 3 am) and coffee only after 9 am until noon. (Normally two cups)

I used to consume coffee 24/7 in 24 oz cups.

Since taking the DAO Enzyme my coffee addiction is gone and I feel 30 years younger. Now I enjoy it, but do not crave it.

I love the smell of coffee percolating.

When I was very young (preschool), my parents always purchased 8 O’clock coffee beans at A&P grocery store. They had a grinder at the checkout, so it was always fresh ground.

When we got home they would dump the coffee in a canister and give me the empty bag. I would put it over my mouth and nose and breathe in the empty bag, getting a high from the wonderful smell. That memory still makes me smile.

We had a woodburning stove in the kitchen and the first thing on the stove after building fire was the old metal percolator. Between the smell of wood smoke and fresh coffee, I was in Heaven.

The keurig method of coffee brewing might be convenient, but it's costly. They sell the equipment fairly cheaply, because their real profit comes from the pods.

I never liked coffee as a teen or young adult, but now I enjoy my breakfast coffee. I grind the beans myself and cold brew it overnight. In the morning, I measure out the resulting concentrate, dilute it with spring water, a dash of no-sugar syrup of various flavors, and finally a dash of milk. Mmmm, it's good. My one morning cup is usually enough to get me going and a small pleasure.

Homemade vanilla extract is soooo much cheaper and tastier than McCormicks’ $5 plus per ounce at the store. A slosh in the mug sure helps with aching bones occasionally.
