A wind turbine blade crashed onto I-70 in Maryland on Monday morning.
The Maryland State Highway Administration reported, “At approximately 5:30 a.m., a tractor trailer traveling westbound on I-70 was pulling a wind turbine blade that struck the guardrail causing the blade to go partially into the eastbound lanes.”
SHA added, “The blade was then clipped by a tractor-trailer traveling eastbound.”
The incident hospitalized one person and closed the westbound lane on I-70 for several hours.
A video of the incident was uploaded on X.

I heard they are now making this crap in China. ROTFL!
I hate them with a passion. You’ve messed up the land as the bases are huge, it kills birds indiscriminately, if not for massive subsidies it would not be feasible and lastly undependable and we all like for electricity to be cheap and dependable.
That looks like a fake image, perhaps generated by AI.
“That looks like a fake image, perhaps generated by AI.”
My first thought. Probably a simulation for rescue crews.
“undependable”....aren’t all so called renewables?
“I hate them with a passion.”
Ditto. White hot hatred. For SO many reasons. I was a power engineer and am appalled at the horrible, lying economics the proponents use that cover up the true cost of these infernal machines. I regularly drive in throughout the west and have seen so many of the magnificent vistas in the western states ruined forever by these things. And the proponents never reveal how dirty these things are when you look at the cradle-to-grave view. Plus the companies that built them rarely had to post any reclamation surety bonds, so when they reach the end of their lives, you will have rusting 400 foot tall steel towers all over the country, millions of tons of concrete buried in the soil, and tens of millions of tons of non-recyclable blades in landfills. These things only last 20-25 years, so that disposal problem is ramping up fast.
That pic looks like Legos.
Wind power in its current form is a boondoggle scam .
I watched some of this on the live feed yesterday.
The rear component eventually gets back into position by scooting sideways and they get back on their way.
I would like to see the crash footage.
It looks pretty close to the real thing. Maybe it’s an image copied from another site and just really low pixel count.

Anything outside of fossil fuels all are
They were transporting a wind turbine blade with a carbon emitting truck?
They are nothing but EYE POLLUTION! HORRIBLE THINGS!
Great point...wind and solar can never stand alone on it’s own merits.
Reminds me of my neighbors that just bought a brand new $55k EV and instead of driving it from Florida to western New York they rented an ICE vehicle for the trip because....and this is their words “we were concerned about finding available charging stations”......SMH
Aye
And they kill vast numbers of hawks, eagles, vultures and bats, plus many other protected species. Where are the greenies that always cry about the “environment”?
It was a transportation accident, not an operational accident.
Meanwhile, in Virginia it’s full speed ahead with the madness.
Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW), is their scam.
Agreed- I was on a business trip from San Diego to Mexicali a few years back to inspect some equipment, and we drove through windmill farms along the US border with perhaps a thousand wind mills - Maybe 10% were spinning. Destroyed a beautiful landscape
It’s a bird ,it’s a plane ,no it’s just another Wind Turbine Blade
