I hate them with a passion. You’ve messed up the land as the bases are huge, it kills birds indiscriminately, if not for massive subsidies it would not be feasible and lastly undependable and we all like for electricity to be cheap and dependable.
“undependable”....aren’t all so called renewables?
“I hate them with a passion.”
Ditto. White hot hatred. For SO many reasons. I was a power engineer and am appalled at the horrible, lying economics the proponents use that cover up the true cost of these infernal machines. I regularly drive in throughout the west and have seen so many of the magnificent vistas in the western states ruined forever by these things. And the proponents never reveal how dirty these things are when you look at the cradle-to-grave view. Plus the companies that built them rarely had to post any reclamation surety bonds, so when they reach the end of their lives, you will have rusting 400 foot tall steel towers all over the country, millions of tons of concrete buried in the soil, and tens of millions of tons of non-recyclable blades in landfills. These things only last 20-25 years, so that disposal problem is ramping up fast.
