“I hate them with a passion.”
Ditto. White hot hatred. For SO many reasons. I was a power engineer and am appalled at the horrible, lying economics the proponents use that cover up the true cost of these infernal machines. I regularly drive in throughout the west and have seen so many of the magnificent vistas in the western states ruined forever by these things. And the proponents never reveal how dirty these things are when you look at the cradle-to-grave view. Plus the companies that built them rarely had to post any reclamation surety bonds, so when they reach the end of their lives, you will have rusting 400 foot tall steel towers all over the country, millions of tons of concrete buried in the soil, and tens of millions of tons of non-recyclable blades in landfills. These things only last 20-25 years, so that disposal problem is ramping up fast.
That pic looks like Legos.
They are nothing but EYE POLLUTION! HORRIBLE THINGS!
And they kill vast numbers of hawks, eagles, vultures and bats, plus many other protected species. Where are the greenies that always cry about the “environment”?
Agreed- I was on a business trip from San Diego to Mexicali a few years back to inspect some equipment, and we drove through windmill farms along the US border with perhaps a thousand wind mills - Maybe 10% were spinning. Destroyed a beautiful landscape
