Bryan Kohberger accepts plea deal in Idaho student murders case

Idaho student murders suspect Bryan Kohberger has accepted a plea deal to spare his life in the murders of four University of Idaho students, two sources close to the case told Fox News Digital Monday.

Kohberger, 30, is accused of killing Madison Mogen, 21, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20, in a 4 a.m. home invasion attack on Nov. 13, 2022.

Goncalves' family, in a Facebook page her parents created after the murders, condemned the deal, which spares Kohberger's life.

"We are beyond furious at the State of Idaho," a new post reads. "They have failed us. Please give us some time. This was very unexpected."

I don`t get it. Why would he accept the plea deal? He loses every chance, small as it may be, to get a better outcome, and for what? Even if he had gotten the death penalty he probably wouldn`t have been executed. The appeals process can take decades and who knows if Idaho would still have the death penalty by the time it finally ends.

And, frankly, i don`t get the prosecution either. Isn`t their case supposed to be bullet-proof? Sure, in court and on the high seas you´re in God´s hands, but still...

there’s life no parole and then there’s life with parole, but BK will get life with time served, if this case keeps going in BK’s favor.

How maddening for the families.

Ditto for the Golden State Killer - accepted a plea deal and clammed up.

Kohberger will as well. He deserved nothing less than a firing squad, same for the Golden State killer.

The worst part is some Lefty Governor will let him out in 40 years. Just like the Menendez Bros who supposedly had life with no parole.

From the other thread:
“The question is, Why did he do it?”

The families of murder victims often ask this question, seeking a rational explanation for the suffering and heartache they are enduring.

But there isn’t a rational explanation; no answer the murderer could give will bring them peace.

The same could also be said about the death penalty, though it at least satisfies our sense of justice.
But the death penalty will neither return the victims to a living state nor will it heal a mourning heart.

I offer prayers for everyone touched by this tragedy. May the Holy Spirit bring peace.

I listened to the news this morning while running errands. Two of the families are ticked off about the plea deal. The other 2 families are fine with it, so they don’t have to relive the horror. I suspect he will be going to the Idaho Super Max prison with security near that of a death row inmate..

After the UBER driver came forward and said they were willing to testify I think he knew the jig was up. Unfortunately it looks like the evidence collected via DNA was in some way flawed. I don’t understand it but that has been my impression.

If people followed more than the MSM regarding this case they would see that there are alot of questions and a great deal of prosecutorial misconduct. After 2 years the DA has still not turned over all discovery.

I’d like to know how a single person acting alone was able to:
1. walk into a house he’d never been to that had 4-6 cars out front.

2. Single handedly kill 4 people with a knife.

3.Steve Goncalves said his daugher had been punched in the face so many times as to make her unrecognizeable.

4. It is said that Ethan’s legs were cut vertically in addition to other stab woulds.

5. It was reported that the killer rested in the 3rd floor room after stabbing two of the victims.

6. At least one of the girls fought back.

7. Left a living witness who texted and Snap chatted everyone and their 3rd cousin before calling 9-1-1 some 8 hours later.

8. Why did the dog not alert/attack anyone or have any blood on it?

All in a time span of 9-12 minutes, leaving no evidence at the scene save a knife sheath with touch DNA on the underside of the snap. In addition to all the above, not having any evidence in either his car or apartment.

Convince the doubters how one person could accomplish all of this in so short a time span.

Now he has the time to finish his thesis.

And also — lifetime tenure!

1. walk into a house he’d never been to that had 4-6 cars out front.

Reports I've read said he had been casing the house numerous times before the murders. It is possible he may even have entered the house if there was a big party going on. It was a rental house so floor plans likely would have been available on line. He was also stalking a couple of the girls on social media.

2. Single handedly kill 4 people with a knife.

If the victims were intoxicated, they may have not been in any shape to fight back. It has been reported that he was boxer.

They called friends over, and the young man immediately told them to get out and call 911. The surviving girls who lived there might have been in shock or some kind of denial. I found my mother dead a few weeks ago and I was in a daze and kept thinking it was not true and she would wake up. The surviving girls that waited many hours to call 911 though...

You say, “thesis”, I say “planning documents”.

Regardless, IMHO, he is a psychopath.
Incapable of empathy.

I pray for his soul nonetheless.
