The Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) has become a mirror of the dysfunction infecting the federal government. The parallels are striking.
President Trump arrived on the political scene just in time to rescue America from what would have been a fatal decline. He is without doubt the premier statesman of the century so far.
Also without doubt, one of the best female basketball players in sports is relative newcomer Caitlyn Clark. She is also the most maligned — both verbally and, astonishingly, physically, as in brutally assaulted on the court by competing players. These physical assaults are far beyond the normal kinds of collisions arising from intense contests. They are deliberate and blatant. Moreover, they are dangerous. Opponents have scratched at Clark’s eyes.
This brings us to the officiating. Penalty “calls” made by referees are well known to be controversial in many sports, including the “no calls,” when game officials fail to flag a player for a violation of the rules. When Clark is on the court, such “no calls” are almost predictable. Clark will almost certainly be fouled, in what are called “hard fouls,” during certain games, but the officials tend to either make no call or call only minor fouls when the violation clearly has been major.
Next, league management. Where have the league’s owners been? Why haven’t officials been warned, or fired? Why haven’t players committing serious infractions been suspended or worse?
There does seem to be some movement within the league management to fix the problems heretofore mentioned, even if the motivation is from embarrassment and complaints from the public rather than from a sincere effort to benefit the sport.
Better yet, there are signs that the Trump administration may be on the verge of a breakthrough in being able to implement its policies

Thank you very much and God bless you.
Though I have never watched a WNBA game, I have seen news clips of the violence directed at Clark. It does seem like the violence and dirty tricks democRATs direct at President Trump.
The WNBA drama is only a side effect of wokeology that is facing reality. It’s actually happening everywhere, only the ratings come off of WNBA media exposure.
Of dysfunction in govt
Of dysfunctjon in sports
Of dysfunction in society
Yup. This is everywhere.
In schools and in the workplace. Bullies are rewarded, their victims are punished. You are above average? Well, sucks to be you — the people in charge fear your competence and will make sure you are punished for it.
This is everywhere now.
The larger problem the author overlooks is highlighted by his final question “don’t they know that [the thing that gives them money and power will suffer were they to continue their destructiveness]?
Leftism and the corruption that supports has infused all walks of life, from the WNBA to DC. It is just about as “I don’t care as long as I get mine while I can.”
It’s nihilistic at best and but most certainly — wittingly or unwittingly — an agent of death cultism that embraces the notion that “humanity sucks and the quicker it’s eradicated the better.”
The author did not go this far, but what he wrote brings it to mind.
Seems to be kept in check on the college level, but they certainly let it all hang out when they become pros.
Feel badly for the straight female athletes who just love the sport - there is nowhere else to go.
I’ve watched clips of Clark, and she is remarkable player, but she could never make it in the NBA, where she would run up against stifling defenses.
That's precious.
Obviously, the coaches are in charge at the college level. If the player is acting out, she'll get kicked off the team.
Dysfunction of sports.
Disfuctin of government.
Disfukin of culture.
The Left wants us to be gay, emasculated and woke so we'll end up worshiping the government.
What an outstanding observation!! I have often asked does Ms. Clark feel she must continue playing in order to help the WNBA?
After all, she has been offered exorbitant amounts of money by certain 3 on 3 league team owners to play in the 3 on 3 league. She would certainly face less physical punishment driven by jealous rage!!
I think they just want to destroy the traditional family unit, which in and of itself, has a distaste of meddling of those outside its confines.
Destroy the traditional family and you destroy those demanding liberty, freedom of influence, and family output.
Destroy the traditional family and you destroy those demanding liberty, freedom of influence, and family output.
First they were able to destroy the Black family.
Now they're doing the same to everybody.
Even if you are an immigrant, you're not safe because you'll end up getting Americanized. Especially if you're indoctrinated once you're enrolled at an university.
You’ve got a league of 90% tall, ugly, lesbians who resent someone straight and somewhat attractive getting all the publicity. Hopefully, Caitlin, Sophie, and Lexie will leave for Europe and expose the WNBA for the junk league they are.
I’m looking forward to the first transgendered trying to join the WNBA.
I have heard that the women’s NBA has never turned a profit. This league only survives because it’s being subsidized by the NBA.
Apparently, the owners of NBA franchises feel the need to subsidize women’s basketball, with some of their profits.
Perhaps they get some tax benefits from doing so.
But apparently, they have not been able to build enough of a fan base to be viable.
No, for all its problems being run by sour White hating Black dykes and subservient White dykes is not one of our governments problems. This is a ridiculous premise.
Indeed it is. Along with a phenomenon called ‘’quiet quitting’’ where you do just the barest minimum required.
It is everywhere, even in the hospital I work in in.
What our generation was taught, show up, everyday, on time, do the job to your best ability, don’t make excuses, take responsibility, that’s over. That makes you a target.
