Progressive New York Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani is outperforming former Governor Andrew Cuomo among the state's wealthiest voters in the New York City mayoral Democratic primary race, according to new polling.
The latest Yale Youth Poll, conducted with YouGov among 645 voters between June 17 and 23 with a margin of error of ±5 percentage points, shows that in the final round of voting, Mamdani leads Cuomo among voters with income over $100,000 by 20 points, with 60 percent to Cuomo's 40 percent.
Newsweek reached out to representatives for Cuomo and Mamdani via email for comment.

Anyway, as Sacajaweau noted, this doesn’t make sense. Could the results be skewed by inherited wealth?
The wealthy are the last to suffer for their idiotic political beliefs.
Perhaps it does, white liberal guilt. Also the belief that the new taxes will somehow exempt them.
I dont believe these numbers
Socialism has always been a plan of the elite: 1) to keep economic risers and challengers down, and 2) to deflect possible blame for the disparate wealth.
Even under socialism?
We will find out soon enough—higher income people are more likely to turn out in a local primary.
Maybe they lied to the poster about their income
Maybe they lied to the pollster about their income
100k is not (really at all) wealthy in NYC.
The wealthy can simply board a private jet with their millions and escape the disasters they create.
The voter turnout is less than 10% in certain categories. The socialists will always out vote the apathetic voters who don’t bother. NYC is in trouble.
We need a wall around NYC.
