Shocking Scientists: Fossilized Plesiosaur Skin Cells Discovered After 183 Million Years
SciTechDaily ^ | February 19, 2025 | Lund University

Researchers at Lund University in Sweden have analyzed the soft tissue of a fossilized plesiosaur for the first time, revealing that the long-necked marine reptile had both smooth and scaly skin. This combination likely helped it swim efficiently while also allowing movement along rough seabeds.

Plesiosaurs inhabited the world's oceans throughout much of the Mesozoic Era (203–66 million years ago). These reptiles, which could grow up to 12 meters long, fed primarily on fish and propelled themselves using four paddle-like flippers, similar to sea turtles. Until now, little has been known about their external anatomy...

However, in a new study published in the scientific journal Current Biology, a research team led by scientists from Lund University has managed to analyze soft tissue from a 183-million-year-old plesiosaur found near Holzmaden, Germany.

"Fossilized soft tissue, such as skin and internal organs, is exceptionally rare. We used a broad range of techniques to identify smooth skin in the tail region as well as scales along the rear edge of the flippers. This provided us with unparalleled insights into the appearance and biology of these long-extinct reptiles," says Miguel Marx, a PhD student in geology at Lund University and the lead author of the study.

New research reveals that the plesiosaurs was a long-necked marine reptile covered with both smooth and scaly skin.

Thus proving the plesiosaur was not a Democrat. Democrats are reptiles covered in 100% scaly skin.

Talk about being married to a failed ideology! These are NOT millions of yrs. old. Evolutionist, “Gee, I wonder what evolutionary processes were involved that preserved this soft tissue for 66 million years?” Totally ridiculous!

Carbon dating being admittedly completely incapable of accurately dating anything as purportedly old as this dead Plessy and its impressively youthful-appearing skin.

maybe its not really millions and millions of years old after all like the darwinist secular humanist would have us beleive.

after all radio carbon dating is a pick and choose whichever spike on the line you want bait and switch evolution con tool

and the other method they use to determine age is

the strata the bones are found on is based upon the bones found in the strata bait and switch darwinist evolution THEORY con job.

maybe those critters are this side of 60000 years old

and they are avoiding the issue of time dilation ;-)

Radiocarbon dating only works about 45k years. There are no rc dates for dinos. But since you’ve probably spewed your BS about it on here before, you must have known that.

Even if not, you stated something that is not true, iow, a lie, which makes you a liar.

It is fascinating that any soft tissue is able to remain detectable in non-freezing conditions for thousands of years. The log curves I've seen indicate that even under consistent sub-zero conditions no soft tissue should remain over >millions of years.

I used to collect fossils along the Thames river north of London, Ontario, and I will swear there was a rotting marine odor associated with the fossil-bearing layers.

\

and speaking of that fact

how other than a creator making some particles older than others as a proof of a creator can that even be if the big bang created all
particles at once ?

... same with radiospheres (Granite radiospheres, also known as radiohalos, are microscopic spherical zones of discoloration found in certain granite, formed by the decay of radioactive elements) / found in granite , how was the decay ring created and set and recorded before the rock cooled ?

only a creator who made it that way,,, the impossible done, as proof of a creator.

.

Mary Schweitzer first id’ed it (or at least was first to be brave enough to do it). The first of the FRchive links up there (post #1) links to a post listing topics of her keyword here.

Most “scientists” are nothing but high priests of secular atheistic dogma that have no understanding of the scientific method.

They continually promote untestable fantasies as science. They ignore actual data because it refutes those fantasies.

45 k huh ?

ive heard different #’s my whole life from the likes of people like you

so..not MY lie ahole.

i used to ask my teachers..

?” how come all your numbers end in zero ? , shouldnt that number be 1 year older than what you teachers taught me last year ? “

academia finally realized that fact outed them and stopped using round numbers all the time occasionally just to shut perceptive kids up.

The soft tissue isn’t preserved. It is fossilized, as is specifically stated.

Y’all (most who responded) missed the statement that this was fossilized soft tissue. That means the tissue was replaced with stone. No DNA or other organic material….
