Step inside "Trump Burger," the Texas chain started by an immigrant obsessed with the president

Amid endless debate over whether or not In-N-Out, Five Guys or Shake Shack puts up the best burger, we have a new — and yuge! — contender entering the crowded upscale burger market.

From Deseret News:

A Donald Trump impersonator, dozens of American flags and a burger with the word 'Trump' stamped into the bun are all things a customer might see on a visit to any of the four Trump Burger locations in Texas.

The restaurant chain, themed after President Donald Trump, was founded by a Lebanese immigrant named Roland Beainy, reported Fox Business. All of the current locations of Trump Burger are in Texas.

(As an aside, when I hear that a hardworking immigrant came to this great country of ours and started a successful presidential-themed burger restaurant, I get like:) The place most certainly looks like a shrine to our 45th/47th president, up to and including Trump-branded burger buns:

Trump Burger/Instagram Trump Burger/Instagram Trump Burger/Instagram To be sure, while the the restaurant is comically over-the-top, the menu itself looks very conventional:

Trump Burger/Facebook You do gotta love that "Harris Burger." It checks out. Trump Burger/Facebook Unfortunately, Houston Chronicle restaurant critic Bao Ong didn't have great things to say about the fare:

Ong described the restaurant's burger as "consistent in its blandness." He also criticized the Philly cheesesteak for "stingy portions," and said that it 'seemed as if someone stir-fried a few pieces of beef and onions and threw it into some bread.' ...

There is also a First Lady Chicken Sandwich, which Ong said is dedicated to Melania Trump. He described it as 'better than the burger, with a nicely grilled, not-too-dry chicken breast draped with two slices of American cheese. It would be even better if the too-sweet teriyaki were left out.'

The restaurant, meanwhile, responded to that negative review:

The Houston Chronicle maintains a predominantly liberal stance, so we expected nothing less than a biased take on anything bearing the Trump name.

That's a Trump response if there ever was one!

If this guy made frozen Trump Burgers, that could be shipped, in the way White Castle Burgers are now shipped and sold retail via grocery stores, I would order some, just for the novelty.

That’s a lot of money for a gimmick, even if the burger is good. I wish him success, while wondering if DJT will pursue him for licensing rights.

Instead of Golden Arches, Golden everything!
I'll take a large Melania milkshake, and a slice of Leavitt apple pie to go please.

Pres. Trump owns his name...it’s trademarked.
He could put this place out of business.

I've been to the first one back in 2016. Very glad that they are doing well.

Prices seem reasonable for Kemah's, about the same as a Chili's.

There’s one in Bellville, which I think is the original.

The burgers are fine, but the rings are super.

Kamala burger: Empty bun with nothing in it

Biden burger: Dried up patty made fresh in 1980, slid off the bun

They should have the Baron combo. Two Trump burgers, XL fries, large shake for a growing boy.

I don’t like a bunch of glop on my burgers, but if they’ll hold the mayo and sauce. I’m in

No, but the druggies order the Kamala pot Brownies with Red wine to chase them down. Then they sound and act just like kamala.

All you need is the bun.

Lots of 1-Star reviews since June 1st - mostly by people from California, Georgia, and Maryland, who have probably never been to Texas let alone this restaurant.

My relatives live in Bellville so I visit frequently. Trump Burger’s parking lot is often filled and people park down the street as well..

It had opened during the first Trump administration. I was worried that it would close down when Biden took over, but it didn’t close and it’s going from strength to strength.

My cousins enjoyed their burgers and found them very good, not bland as described in this article.

Biden burger: Dried up patty made fresh in 1980, slid off the bun.

Known to cause gastrointestinal issues. (Deluxe Biden Burger includes a diaper.)
