A commencement speaker accused the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) of being part of wiping "Palestine from the face of the Earth" Thursday, leading multiple students to walk out.
Megha M. Vemuri, MIT's class of 2025 president, praised her classmates for protesting against Israel in the wake of the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas terrorist attacks and the ensuing Gaza War.
"Last spring, MIT's undergraduate body and graduate student union voted overwhelmingly to cut ties with the genocidal Israeli military. You called for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza. And you stood in solidarity with the pro-Palestinian activists on campus. You faced threats, intimidation and suppression coming from all directions, especially your own university officials," Vemuri said.
Her comments drew a mix of boos and cheers, according to video obtained by Fox News Digital. One of the attendants, waving what appeared to be a Palestinian flag, scuffled with security. Some students walked out as Vemuri spoke. Others in the crowd shouted, "Shame."
"But you prevailed because the MIT community that I know would never tolerate a genocide. Right now, while we prepare to graduate and move forward with our lives, there are no universities left in Gaza," Vemuri continued.
She went on to say, "We are watching Israel try to wipe Palestine off the face of the earth. And it is a shame that MIT is a part of it."

There never was a Palestine
I have a BS from MIT and a PhD from Harvard. So I was interested in the two Commencement ceremonies yesterday.
Yesterday’s Harvard commencement was a lovely event with no “incidents” at all.
However, the MIT commencement featured a horrible pro-Palestinian address by keffiyeh-wearing class president Indian American Megha Vemuri:

MIT president Kornbluth, who spoke right after Vemuri, said nothing about her vile speech!
Nevertheless, MIT barred Vemuri from further graduation events!
Good! I don’t know if Vemuri was awarded her degree, however.
A perfect reason to end student visas to muztards.
Mossad should grab Megha, dress her in an IDF uniform, give her a cell phone so’s the Hamanimals can livestream the “festivities”, and dump her off in Gaza.
She’ll have a “come to Shiva” moment but quick.
How quickly someone graduating one of the best STEM schools in the world won’t get a job in her field.
As Hitler was getting underway they used to shame and humiliate Jewish teachers, professors and students in class.
Then they went full force into genocide plans.
The land of the Philistines...and David kicked their @ss.
And YOU "Miss Thing" stand with the maniacal murdering muzzards, who would slaughter you in a New York second.
Other than that, it makes you one of them.
That's like saying there was never a Midwest.
"Palestine" is an ancient geographic location. It includes Israel, Lebanon and part of Syria. So all those residents are "Palestinians" except, of course, "the palestinians".
The Gazards are mostly Egyptian riff-raff, and the West Bankers are mostly Jordanian riff-raff. No other muzzard country wants them.
The murdering filth Yassar Arafat was an Egyptian.
We will never hire from those sicko colleges
, period. And certainly won’t contribute to them. They’re moral cesspools.
There never was a Palestine
The only one is in Texas, and it’s pronounced “Pali-Steen”.
Given the context and her recognition as a 2025 graduate in multiple reports, it is likely she received her degree, though MIT’s disciplinary action may have affected her participation in official graduation events.
If you need confirmation of her degree status, you may want to contact MIT’s registrar directly.
I have a BS in course 5 (chemistry) from MIT but stoooed giving them money when they put a trans story in tech review. They have been better since I’ll say and aren’t insane as much.
Did she cheer the murder of the Jewish couple too?
walking out DURING commencement is pointless: you’ve already paid your money ... if Jews REALLY want to make an effective statement, they need to walk out BEFORE matriculation ...
My BS is in course 7 (biology).
There was a Lebanese Christian who pointed out that neither palestinians nor palestine was mentioned in the Koran. But the Jews are mentioned dozens of times and their Koran admits that Jews have legal authority in that region.
"The land of the Philistines"
The ancient Philistines were Greeks who came from across the sea. The muslims in the Levant were arab invaders from the desert who arrived in the 7th century. No relationship.
