Regularly smoking weed or consuming edibles may raise the risk of suffering a heart attack, a study suggests.
The team from the University of California San Francisco who made the find warns it is 'more evidence cannabis use is not benign.'
It also comes amid an alarming rise in unexplained heart attacks in young Americans, which experts are still trying to unpack.

Maybe. I'm not a Cannabis user, but I don't recall ever hearing about young people dying from smoking pot in the 60's and 70's.
Methinks there might be an elephant in the room put into young people starting around 2021 that should have been ruled out as a potential cause.
I don’t know. But cannabis is stronger now than in the 1960s and 1970s.
Hmm, did they look to see who had the COVID jabs?
True
We have been told cannabis today is much stronger than what was used back in the 60s and 70s so who knows but that could be a factor.
“Hmm, did they look to see who had the COVID jabs?”
That was my first question. They blame pot, yet, pot has been around a long time.
Yah, were pot smoking young people more likely to take the jab? I don’t know.
Yes.
They have been scrambling for a long time to blame certain pesky death health problems on anything but the death clot shots.
That is true, but the THC level in modern pot, is much higher now, than the 60's and 79's.
I’m still getting used to the idea that pot smoking is now only considered a dirty habit.
Whew!! I thought it was going to be a much different dirty habit...
The rash of young heart attack victims is due to the Covid clot shot, not due to pot. I hate drugs and pot smoking stoners are stupid, but pot is not what is causing young people to drop dead from heart attacks. That happening because of the Covid shot.
Meanwhile, why would I trust anything from the University of San Fransicko?
what if you don’t inhale?
Yeh, right! Blame the vaxx heart attacks on weed. What a crock!
There’s collateral factors need to be examined like less active lifestyles
However as someone who was born with RBB and unfulfilled LAD and now has pacemaker and reconstructed LAD and HFpEF at 68
Heart disease is overwhelmingly predisposition
Tobacco vaping is maybe worst offender like cigarettes
Constant constructing and relaxing of arteries throughout body
I could see weed doing that too first 15/20 minutes in its stimulant phase before the depressant action starts
I know scores of senior pot smokers and don’t see anything anecdotal really
I know folks smoke mid 80s and have since beatlemania
Excessive weed use isn’t good but it’s pales compared to booze and pill heads
No I don’t use it either not since 1990
Old folks smoke joints or maybe take gummies
Young people like to rip bongs or dab/rosin
There have been 60 years of selective breeding and genetic engineering aimed at making the plants more potent and engineering the high producing Cannabinoids for greater psychoactive and psychedelic effects. If you have ever seen a modern pot plant they are really amazing.
They are literally designer drug plants so loaded with THC that they are dripping.
The plants are loaded with novel engineered high potency strains of Cannabinoids that affect the body in ways much different than the Maui Wowie and Acapulco Gold so users are getting much higher doses of much more potent variants of THC that affect the body in novel ways.
Indeed. Clot shots, anyone? Bueller, Bueller?
True but we just smoked more then
I actually know folks now with tolerance who can only get so high even now smoking
Eating THC has always been potentially problematic
I took too much brownies from ole miss pot fields in 1980 and man the internal dialogue ran off with me for about 12 hours
It got old lol
Taught me a lesson
I imagine todays gummies can do that too
And I was a chronic 71-90 with one gap 84-89
Agree. Yet in the 90’s there was what was called ‘kind bud’-Hydroponically grown cannabis that was exceptionally strong. None of friends indulging in this for years suffered a heart attack in their 20’s. I know this is just ancedotal.
