Amazing movie, amazing messaging, amazing representation of our military. Never so proud to see something like this on the big screen........I am trying to figure out a way to track the uptick in sales for St Christopher medals after millions of people see this movie around the world......how many young people will be wearing them, even if they do not understand the significance?......thank you, Tom Cruise, for leading the way for our young people.
The plane scene at the end of the movie was pretty awesome.
Doing his own stunts at 62, he is putting a lot of men to shame.
Incredible.
Well, then...
...maybe it’s time to see a movie in the theater for the first time since TG2.
If Peter Graves and Barbara Bain ain’t in it, it ain’t Mission Impossible.
#8? Current release?
I like your quick review of the movie, Be Careful. Saw the movie in Japan in Friday. Movie goers in Nippon love Cruise, ever since he starred in The Last Samurai a few decades ago. The theater had quite a few people, unusual for a work day. Agree, the movie DOES put a nice light on our military. And while the special effects were incredible as you'd expect, I also liked the choice of actors who were top notch. Even a U.S. President portrayed in the movie had some Trumpian qualities. Warning: The movie is almost 3 hours long, though 90% of the movie's action was face paced and you lost track of time -- which is what you want. Just take it easy on the soda pop. :-) Finally, the success of this movie will enable the producers at SkyDance to acquire Paramount and make it Great Again, putting the Fake News CBS franchise in check. |
He’s got a cable (likely fastened to a harness) that is attached to the helo. No doubt the graphics department edited out the cable in the final cut.
You can die falling 10’ off of a ladder.
When I was his age I climbed 70’ up in an oak tree to mount the antenna for our cell phone booster. Dropped a wrench. Had to go back down and get it. A day later I was back up there moving it because it was aimed about 30 degrees off.
I had to wait for my wife to be away in town or she wouldn’t have let me do it.
I didn’t get paid at all for doing it either.
I’ll be 71 in July, and am fit. I’d do that stuff for a million dollars. He uses safety harnesses and cables (such as seen in post #4). The graphic arts people erase that stuff before final release.
But I couldn’t be an actor. Pretending I’m some cinema hero just ain’t me.
If not already, be sure to see the part one. Amazon currently has it. Just to prime the pump, as it were.
Yeah Tom is a legend with these stunts. Simon Pegg speaks about flying with Tom and then when they land Tom asks “does anyone want to get in cages and feed the sharks?” Lots of energy.
Just got home at 12:45 am. Tom said this it. Obviously the MI franchise was ruined by the overabundance of women and the presidents lesbian sidekick.... Tom was great and the stunts and suspense the finest of the year. Thanks Tom.
Benji is in it. Go see it.
I feel the same way.
The original series, even with its shortcomings, is better.
I read some negative reviews. But I’m planning on seeing it in the movie theater. Have to see the series finale.
I remember the original TV series. I have to admit that I haven’t seen ANY of Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible movies. I have some catching up to do.
