A gang of wealthy 'crypto bros' have been arrested for luring their former business partner to a stunning New York City mansion before torturing him for weeks.
The group are accused of kidnapping the 28-year-old Italian man before committing sickening acts on him in the $75,000-per-month rented brownstone in Soho.
They alleged to have Tazed him, pistol-whipped him and threatened to carve him up with a chainsaw if he did not give up the millions of dollars in his crypto account.
But their plot was foiled when the victim - who has not been named - escaped and flagged down traffic to save him and call the police.
On Friday morning cops swooped on the mansion and dragged out at least one of the suspects, who was draped in a white bath robe.
The victim said the nightmare began on May 6 when he arrived in Manhattan from Italy after being lured by the false promises of an business opportunity.
Instead, he claimed the group confiscated his passport and turned the luxurious apartment into a house of horrors for weeks.
The 'crypto bros' are accused of binding him with electrical cords and other forms of shock torture - including using a Taser while his feet were submerged in water.
The men were also alleged to have pistol-whipped him and threatened to sever off his limbs with an electric chainsaw.
Police said the men took Polaroid photographs of themselves torturing him - one showing him bound to a chair with a gun pressed to his head.
The photos, authorities believe, were likely intended to extort money from either the victim or his family back in Italy.
The men also reportedly forced him into taking drugs - including cocaine - and imposed mental torment upon him, repeatedly insisting he would never escape.

Yeah, since this guy and a female (named in the Post article) are not “bros” so it may be there are more of these cells over seas or in the US. A lot of crypto is definitely not legit- or fronted by doper gangsters, using crypto to hide cash sales.
Always some kind of angle, am certain there are experts in this new “field” of criminal acts.
That pudgy KY gang soyboy with the ghetto shower shoes, could only be threatening someone smaller, or not using the firearm- illegal to possess in NYC. Sick useless people can be found in SoHo, apparently, and in Las Vegas—easy peasy.
“Moment wealthy ‘crypto bros’ are dragged out of their stunning NYC mansion for kidnapping and torturing their business partner for WEEKS”
That’s why I never got into crypto - just too violent.
One local vendor knew there was something weird going on but assumed they were just shooting porn....
Main perp is from Kentucky, of all places.
I hate nuclear war.
But if we have to use the Ohio subs against The View then so be it....
We may have to use 2 on Whoopi.
Staggered strikes.
The Italian guy had done business with the peep before.
Weird to call it a gang when it sounds only like a guy, a gal and two butlers.
A hardcopy Polaroid can be sent to the family via postal service, whereas electronic transfer leaves a trail.

If I remember, the article indicated that the creeps were renting it at the time, so after a deep clean/make-ready, I’m sure it will be again.
If that is the same Beatrice and not a fake account or fake bio there are some very interesting connections to an NGO there and special operators/armed park rangers in Africa. Dig into her background and it starts feeling like the script from True Lies.
I just don’t think this *gang* seems all that bright if they’re tying up people with electrical cords and torturing an Italian guy in an upscale, well populated neighborhood.
Crazy.
>> When you are getting tortured daily, two weeks can feel like forever
Constipation can have that effect. Or so my friends tell me.
>> Why the heck are they calling these guys ‘the crypto bros’ ?
Trendy
I don’t know, but news reports like this upset me.
About 30 years ago, a friend of mine was stalked and eventually kidnapped by her psycho ex-boyfriend. They only casually dated for a short period of time before she called it off; he was obsessed with her.
He held her prisoner and tortured her for a month in his family’s cabin. She needed facial reconstruction surgery, a bridge to replace the teeth he broke, had permant scars on her wrists and ankles from where he tied her up, 2 broken ribs, cigarette burns on her arms, legs, and abdomen, and had to wear wigs because he ripped chunks of her hair out at the roots. She was repeatedly and brutally raped.
She was a beautiful, funny, vivacious girl before. She was never the same after.
Sorry, I can’t joke about this stuff.
Uh, looks like red brick townhouse to me.
I say this as an old person who clearly remembers living in an America in which editorial control of media was not regarded as an abridgement of freedom of speech; but rather a quality measure over not just the content, but the effects of the content on society.
Then came the numerous obscenity lawsuits from Playboy, Hustler, etc., that opened the floodgates.
People who study media academically or statistically have long established that media imagery does produce copycat activities.
Just the opposite. Polaroids don't go to the Cloud; hence are not traceable back to the original device (and who has registered it) like digital images are. Plausible deniability.
Wow. Sorry.
I understand greed, but I still dont understand why these guys would do this. It seems to me that these crypto guys are wealthy enough in their own right to where they can afford the exorbitant rent on this place. Unless maybe they have had a massive downturn in their fortunes where they have just lost or about to lose their accumulated wealth and so, resorted to this.
Thanks for that....guess I’m the one who is lacking knowledge. Makes sense.
No apologies necessary, my friend. You didn’t know. Just didn’t want you to think I was being a jerk if I didn’t appreciate the humor.
I haven’t heard from her in over 20 years. My sister saw her a long while and said she was doing good. I hope so.
As for that creep, he’s exhibit A for the term “some people deserve killing.”
