Acting Columbia University President Claire Shipman on Wednesday bizarrely chose to stoke the flames by acknowledging arrested ex-grad student Mahmoud Khalil at the Ivy League school’s chaotic graduation.
Hordes of graduating students in the riled-up audience began chanting Khalil’s name and nearly booed Shipman off the stage throughout her remarks at the embattled university’s commencement.
“We firmly believe that our international students have the same rights to freedom of speech as everyone else, and they should not be targeted by the government for exercising their right,” Shipman told the crowd of nearly 37,000.
“I know many in our community are mourning the absence of our graduate, Mahmoud Khalil,” she said.
Khalil was arrested by ICE agents at an off-campus apartment owned by the university in March and whisked away to a Louisiana migrant detention facility awaiting deportation.
The Trump administration claims Khalil, who served as a spokesman for anti-Israel groups including Columbia University Apartheid Divest, engaged in activities “aligned to Hamas,” the Palestinian terror group.
Some students at the ceremony told The Post they felt Shipman’s shout-out of the former grad student — who helped organize on-campus protests where pro-Hamas literature was handed out — was inappropriate.
“‘Mourning?’ Is he dead?” a Columbia undergrad who declined to identify herself said sarcastically.

If you look at traditional societies for thousands of years, they tend to have traditional roles. Our ancestors did not give them leadership roles.
Just saw them burning their diplomas, again and still. Why bother attending? Stop student visas. Stop all campus protests.

I believe that Americans are no longer a virtuous people. Sure, there are plenty of God-fearing, virtuous Americans, but by and large, American culture is now base and degenerate.
I moved to Italy years ago - long story - and when I returned to visit America five years ago I was shocked and disgusted by what I saw. Lots of grossly overweight, tatt-covered, foul mouthed, idiotically-dressed people. Dignity appeared to be in very short supply there.
It all makes me want to cry.

Yes. The paper says Columbia, but no one saw him there. The was a three letter acronym company that had its employees educated at Columbia but had special classes. That same company was connected to micro loans to Indonesia via the Ford Foundation. Take a look at who Obama’s mama worked for, and Indonesian. While many of the connections have been erased, I will hint to you that Obama’s first job in Chicago had a link to that same government company with a three letter acronym. Before he went to Harvard law. So yes, he probably has a real degree from Columbia, and nobody saw him in class there.
