Experts have issued a warning about a potential “mega tsunami” that could sweep away entire communities with its massive waves.
Alaska, Hawaii and the West Coast of the mainland US face an ongoing threat due to how close they are to disaster zones — and the West Coast just received a renewed warning.
A new study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences revealed that an earthquake could erupt along the Cascadia subduction zone, a fault that stretches from Northern Vancouver Island to Cape Mendocino, California. Researchers from Virginia Tech found that a potential powerful earthquake combined with rising sea levels could lead to a mega tsunami, most severely impacting residents and properties in Northern California, northern Oregon and southern Washington.
A mega tsunami is a disastrous wave caused by the displacement of ocean water, which can be triggered by earthquakes, landslides or volcanic eruptions.

In the immortal words of Gary Gillmore: “Let's do it!”
“combined with rising sea levels”
Of which there is ZERO evidence.
Some peeps ask:
Is this a bad thing?
Uh....YEAH. I live in Washington. I aint no damned liberal.
East of Mt. Hood?
East of Mt. Baker?
Mega tsunami? So, will that be 1 million times the height of a regular tsunami, or is this a water volume thing, so the height is only 100 times that of a regular tsunami (100 = cube root of 1 million).
sorry, I didn’t see this already posted.
How come when these people are completely wrong, NO ONE goes back and asks what happened! Why were you completely WRONG? Tired of these scare stories that become.... never mind...
Yes, they killed any potential credibility with that BS.
Well, if true, it will really help deal with a large percentage of god hating, anti American socialists we have in the country.
Houses built on sand....
Oh.

Watch out for skyscrapers.🤔😏
Not Japan?
Ok God do your job.
Tsunami when funneled up bays and sounds can run up to incredible heights. The wave itself is not 1000 feet high as it enters the bay. It’s like water sloshing up the side of a bathtub if you set up a wave in it. A 50 foot tsunami at the head of Puget sound would run up to at least 500 feet above sea level in parts of the upper reaches of that sound as they funnel into valleys.
I’m already looking for a nice waterfront place in Otisville.
Authors and affiliations info interesting...
I wonder if Mothra still hangs out with those beautiful little Japanese girls.
