Experts have issued a warning about a potential “mega tsunami” that could sweep away entire communities with its massive waves.
Alaska, Hawaii and the West Coast of the mainland US face an ongoing threat due to how close they are to disaster zones — and the West Coast just received a renewed warning.
A new study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences revealed that an earthquake could erupt along the Cascadia subduction zone, a fault that stretches from Northern Vancouver Island to Cape Mendocino, California. Researchers from Virginia Tech found that a potential powerful earthquake combined with rising sea levels could lead to a mega tsunami, most severely impacting residents and properties in Northern California, northern Oregon and southern Washington.
A mega tsunami is a disastrous wave caused by the displacement of ocean water, which can be triggered by earthquakes, landslides or volcanic eruptions.

I went on to wrestle NCAA division 3 in college but was never the same.
“Experts warn”
Such articles can’t be published without forwarding the climate hysteria.
Lex Luthor’s plan finally comes to fruition!
The coronal mass ejection will get me first
A Tsunami is about volume and speed.
It rides under the surface like a race car.
As the base elevation under water rises, the rush of this water rises with it.
By the time it gets to shore it will be equivariant of the volume, speed and rise.
Open ocean maybe a 1 inch variance.
That adds up to one very big, steaming pile of fear porn.
” an earthquake could erupt”
Well, that certainly sounds ominous, and puts a time & date stamp right on it.
I guess, with that degree of accuracy, I’ll check back next year, or maybe in 10, to see if there’s an update.
So, without the 1.5 ft sea rise, the tsunami would only be 998.5 feet high.
Well, that's a relief!
Oh that’s too bad.
Anyway, have you seen how the paint dried on my barn? Looks nice.
What color 😁
As long as it’s not a Sharknado...
If it happens so be it. Everything we see around us is going to end someday. I’m just wondering how they got the inside scoop!
I don’t doubt that someday this could happen. Problem is, there’s no way to prepare for it ahead of time, and you won’t know til it’s too late when it’s coming. (I saw this movie; you can’t move millions of people fast enough to get more than a few to higher ground.)
Those 8 mm of sea level rise in the last hundred years is what really scares me.
That’s what really gives a 1,000 ft tall wave its kick!
1,000 foot high?
These people would be more believable if their BS was just a bit more realistic in their predictions.
“Rising sea levels...”
