What had been hailed as a potentially Hall of Fame career was cut short at the start of just its second season, as WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark was indicted for murder after fouling Angel Reese.
The incident occurred during a game between the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky, with Clark, who has been violently and mercilessly fouled an estimated eight trillion times in the past year, fouling Reese. Although Reese survived and was unharmed, it was announced immediately following the game that Clark had been indicted for her murder.
"The game of basketball is no place for this level of wanton violence," said WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert. "As soon as we saw that Caitlin Clark had committed the foul against Angel Reese and not the other way around, we contacted the authorities to ask for charges to be filed."
The foul, quickly upgraded from a flagrant foul to a federal hate crime, could potentially lead to Clark being placed behind bars for the rest of her life — if she's not publicly executed. "Ms. Clark violated the law being fouling a black player instead of being fouled by a black player," Commissioner Engelbert continued. "We have a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to white players fouling black players.

I absolutely don’t care about any of that, but...the Babylon Bee has been on fire the last week or so! They ARE a treasure...:)
Just seeing the titles of their “articles” makes me grin!
Me too. Luv the Bee.
LOL!
I saw the play being described. Yes, Catlin fouled Reese. It also looked intentional to block surefire points. But Reese did the most over acted flop I’ve seen an a long time. LeBron level. Soccer level. Clark’s foul was arm on arm. Reese acted like she just got bodied by a linebacker. One of Reese’s own teammates rolled her eyes and smirked.
The art of basketball is lost....
They grind out this stuff daily and thus some are misses but when they hit it’s usually out of the park.
Watching the video, I think she was standing up for her teammate who was shoved by Reese in order to get the rebound.
The art of basketball is lost....
You can thank the 3-point shot for that.
I gave up on the game when five steps to the hoop was no longer traveling.
EC
Reese and her racist gang of CC haters literally assault Clark every game, even to the point of attempting to blind her. Then Reese loses her mind when even mildly fouled by Clark. It’s ridiculous.
This is all scripted by the league to try to get people to tune in.
+1
When basketball started there were no dunks, everything was a three point shot. Shooting was the name of the game. I started watching basketball again because of Catlin Clark. Hate men’s basketball. Passing and shooting is how basketball began.
I’m getting a real WWE vibe from this rivalry. A failing league desperate for attention, and they’re getting it now.
I don’t get guys who enjoy watching womens sports, especially sports where they fight each other.
I almost believe that (cause if it were true, WNBA would be like Big Time Wrestling; Fake.) The refs are the problem IMHO.
I’m getting tired of the claims of ‘racist remarks from the fans in Indy. If you notice these claims are being made by the dirtiest players in the league at the venue that has the greatest fan attendance.
Don’t get me started on CC’s ‘white privilege’ claims. It really hurts younger white teams when they beat the crap out of black teams, especially when the refs are black. ugh

I would not be surprised at all if the league brought the 2 of them in for a meeting and were encouraged to ratchet up the controversy.
