One morning, a Greek woman makes coffee. By sunset, she decided to end her marriage because ChatGPT told her that her husband was cheating. Yes, you read that correctly, AI is now a marriage counsellor and has evidence while brewing drama.
When AI meets coffee
Forget therapy sessions and horoscopes. In 2025, you can snap a photo of leftover Greek coffee, upload it to ChatGPT, and let that machine spirit inform you of your fate—or, in this specific case, your husband’s supposed affair with a mystery woman whose name begins with “E.”
According to Greek media, the woman in question took a picture of her and her husband’s coffee cups and asked ChatGPT to read the residue. The AI reportedly stated that her husband “ was fantasising about another woman” and warned of a name beginning with “E” trying to destroy the family. Rather than confront him as a normal person, she packed an emotional suitcase, told the kids, and then filed for divorce. No talk, just divorce based on an AI cup reading.
The AI Oracle trend
For the uninitiated, tasseography is the ancient art of reading coffee residue. It is a blend of symbolism, intuition, and storytelling. Traditionally, you would visit a fortune teller or medium, sip your coffee, and hand over your cup like a sacrificial offering. But in 2025, the ritual has changed to drinking coffee, taking a photo, asking AI, and potentially ruining your life.
This incident highlights a growing trend in which custom GPT and apps like “Read My Turkish Coffee” offer AI-generated readings of your supposed future. It is mysticism vs. machine learning with zero accountability.
Divorce by AI: Should we be worried?
When asked what he thought of it, the husband assumed it was a joke. “She’s into trendy things: and informed reporters that he laughed it off. Then the call came from her lawyer, and he refused a mutual separation, and she still served formal papers anyway. His lawyer is now challenging the case, arguing that AI interpretations of coffee are not a valid claim of a secret affair.
This is no quirky headline; it is an odd snapshot of how much faith people instil in AI. From fortune-telling to relationship advice, we are inching dangerously close to a divine prophecy situation. It is easy to laugh, but what happens when people end friendships or fire employees because of what a chatbox feels?.
Coffee was made to wake us up, now it is waking the existential dread. And if we have reached a point where our love hinges on AI interpretations, then it might be time to switch to herbal tea and talk before uploading emotions to the cloud.
See is doing him a big favor.
AI did this guy a favor.
LOL!
This movie “Passengers” (from 2016) starring Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence (I know, a Lefty dingbat).
The story is about what takes place on the “Avalon”, a starship over 6/10ths of a mile long and traveling at half the speed of light, bringing 5000+ passengers and crew in suspended animation to Homestead II, a new planet 130 years away from Earth, and it has one of the best Sci-Fi opening scenes in any I have seen. Every time I see it, I think “Damn. That is a great portrayal...”
Very well done.
A love story in a sci-fi setting with serious moral issues to consider. It is hard to watch and not think: “Damn. What would I do?”
And...even though Lawrence is a Moonbat, she is quite pleasant visually in this role where she plays a Journalist planning to be the first journalist to travel to the future (relatively speaking) and then come back again to tell her story.
Chris Pratt’s character is a technical person who supports and builds infrastructure, and comes off as a conservative to me.
The stuff I see in practice (not public LLM) I’d describe as a fourth grader, so it’s improving :)
Yeah...maybe make an AI that answers in double entendres.
“If Croesus makes war on the Persians, he will destroy a mighty empire.” He did — his own!
Never trust people who act on whatever notions percolate to the top of their brain without a second thought.
Change ChatGPT’s name to Omnissiah?
People trusting AI are going to be in for a world of hurt as they discover it does not have a good grasp of reality. With a lot of collateral damage as in this case.
Unquestionably; she's quite a pretty woman. I frankly don't care what an actor's personal views are (political or otherwise), if they can just manage to act their parts well and shut up in public. Most of them don't, of course....
Nevertheless I cut most of them some slack for the fact that the media constantly pesters celebrities for their opinions, because a lot of the public actually wants to know what they think, mostly because the public can't think for themselves and want their celebrities to tell them what to think. Makes me crazy.
Musicians, same thing. Shut up and sing/play.
FWIW I follow that same guideline at my gigs (I play guitar in a few local bands). I live and play in/around Ithaca, NY, which leans so far left it's a wonder it hasn't fallen into Cayuga Lake. So I keep my opinions to myself in public. I dislike arguing in general, and I dislike it intensely with liberals, because it's very much like arguing with a recalcitrant fool. You just tire yourself out for no gain.
I have, for years, done that, but in the last several decades, they were not satisfied to let me do that.
One example was Pink Floyd when Roger Waters was a prominent member.
Another one is Robert De Niro.
I am trying to go back and start listening to Pink Floyd, but I will generally not watch a movie anymore that has Robert De Niro in it. Especially not any new ones. I still might watch a movie such as “GoodFellas”.
Greek woman, Greek woman, you have no complaint
You are what you are and you ain’t what you ain’t
I had a recurrent nightmare that my husband was leaving me/had already left me for someone else.
One dream was so intense I woke up distraught.
I woke him up, we had some fun, and cuddled afterwards.
The nightmares went away.
I realized that between raising two toddlers and working two jobs, I wasn’t having nearly as much “fun” because I was tired all the time (I had a full time job and cleaned houses on the weekend to bring in extra money to help clear our medical debt).
All I needed was more fun with my husband to keep those worries from creeping up and turning into terrible dreams.
He didn’t mind.
Well, there you go :D

So you’re saying you just needed some Vitamin D? 🥸
Some of the AI companies are being sued for libel. It’s going to be interesting to see what the courts decide.
Thank you!
