Angel Reese Had to Be Held Back From Caitlin Clark After a Hard Foul

Two of the WNBA's best young stars had to be separated during the second half of Saturday afternoon's season-opening contest between the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky.

Following a hard foul from Caitlin Clark on a layup that found Angel Reese on the ground, the Sky forward quickly jolted herself up off the floor and went after the Fever guard. She was held back by teammates—and a referee—as Clark walked away from the scuffle.

Here's a look at both the play and the resulting drama:

Clark was assessed a flagrant foul on the play, while both Reese and Clark's teammate, Aliyah Boston, received offsetting technical fouls.

As for the game itself, the Fever held a 20-point lead over the Sky in the third quarter, with Clark pouring in 14 points on 4 for 10 shooting and Reese tallying 10 of her own.

Must have watched old tapes of Larry Bird.

Larry Bird and Magic Johnson were bitter rivals on the basketball court. Of the court they were life long friends.

That was a hard an intentional foul. She was wrong and deserved the call. However, what Caitlin Clark has been subjected to by other players is far worse than this. They have tried to injure her and it was all about race. Caitlin is white. There has been great racial animosity against Clark, because she is a fantastic player and white.

What the hell is going on in the WNBA? Larry Bird and Magic Johnson were fierce rivals on the basketball court. They were also life long friends. Something is very wrong in Women’s basketball.

I enjoy watching highly skilled women shooting balls into the net with such easy grace. Especially since I need 3 tries from near the net for the ball to fall into the net. But I can best every basketball player in chess. And in my younger days when I was breaking 80 often, I could have defeated most basketball players except Michael Jordan and a few others.

ESPN’s website would prominently put the WNBA as their top headline.

“Clark appeared weak when she came out crying about her privilege and basically begging forgiveness from the ghetto.”

I think she’s just trying to win and doesn’t want opponents to use against her. Smart. Black players in sports have learned they be as racist as they want but if you’re white and pull the racecard that different.

Once the WNBA learns that male viewers are only tuning in for the catfights expect much more mayhem on the court.

But it doesn’t matter… They’re still going to try to foul and hurt her on the court. They’ve never stopped and it’s only gotten worse

Now they’ve got this new chick who plays for the Dallas team that’s supposed to be the next big white hope for the WNBA.

Reporter can't get the story right even with video

At one point in the third quarter, Reese pushed off against Natasha Howard in order to get open in the paint. Clark noticed this. Then Reese received a pass, and was seemingly wide open for a layup — until Clark came in and gave her a hard foul.

The push was on a rebound not a pass. Reese got the rebound. Clark was looking to the ref for foul while pointing to her teammate. No foul is called so it seems Clark gave a little retaliation on behalf of her teammate.

I went to see the WNBA and a basketball game broke out.

You must have been watching a different game than I was. There was no danger of that happening.
