Two of the WNBA's best young stars had to be separated during the second half of Saturday afternoon's season-opening contest between the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky.
Following a hard foul from Caitlin Clark on a layup that found Angel Reese on the ground, the Sky forward quickly jolted herself up off the floor and went after the Fever guard. She was held back by teammates—and a referee—as Clark walked away from the scuffle.
Here's a look at both the play and the resulting drama:
Clark was assessed a flagrant foul on the play, while both Reese and Clark's teammate, Aliyah Boston, received offsetting technical fouls.
As for the game itself, the Fever held a 20-point lead over the Sky in the third quarter, with Clark pouring in 14 points on 4 for 10 shooting and Reese tallying 10 of her own.

The one woman’s sport that would be improved by trannies.
I went to see the WNBA and a basketball game broke out.
About as interesting and consequential as walking a pet turtle.....
They had their chance. Now it seems like they just try to attract attention. Waste of time.
I’m glad Clark learned that hard fouls can be a two-way street.
Must have watched old tapes of Larry Bird.
Good to see Clark is finally fighting back. She should continue doing so the way she has been manhandled by these thugs in the wnba. Treat it like prison. If you appear weak and don’t fight back, everyone will test you.
Who cares?
Yep. Really, she should get in a fight with a random player. She'll get better treatment after that.
It's the "rite of passage".
The NBA used to be like this.
Besides being a great long-distance shooter, Clark has reeeeeeeally pissed of people because she is a proud Catholic.
Oh! The Humanity!
However, this latest incident is welcome to all Christians who, while raised with “turning the other cheek” realize that bullies need to be confronted.
Gutfeld had a joke the other night about some trans story. The punchline was, “We haven’t seen that many men in dresses since the WNBA Draft”.
She reached in. Not a hard foul at all.
A couple of years ago, you needed to write to a post office box number to find out the scores of WNBA games. Now they actually broadcast them on TV... The only question is this. How many people are watching?
I’m pretty sure that the ‘Fireplace’ channel likely has more viewers.
Roller derby and wrasslin’ all in one package.
I haven’t been wowed by an athlete in ages. Then again gymnastics and figure skating are more my speed. 😇
Caitlin Clark? Millions of viewers.
WNBA is still a thing? And we’re posting about it?
Yep. Angel is a big baby. She can dish it out but can’t take it.
Reese commits a flagrant push in the back foul on the Black Indiana player in position to rebound.
Reese literally pushes the Indiana player under the back board, then takes the rebound.
Caitlin Clark actually points out the Reese flagrant foul.
When the ref fails to call a Reese foul, Caitlin then shoves Reese who was trying to score.
But - no call on Reese for the first flagrant foul?
WNBA refs - and the sports writer on this link - completely suck!
