Here we go again my friends. Billionaires wanting a free ride. Play 2 red states off against each other. New York did it for Buffalo. A few million would be cheaper than 2 new stadiums next door but what do I know?

The Chiefs were originally Texans.

Just encircle the reservation and have the Indian Agent to tell them “You no leave”. Offer wampum and (non infected) blankets as an enticement.

Make The Chiefs The Dallas Texans again, and the Houston Texans the “Oilers” again.

Kansas City can have the Cowboys.

I went to a baseball game there. Beautiful park. Problem is there were no fans there. Anti-trust laws allow the NFL to keep their monopoly.

Makes me wonder how they are able to charge for prime time TV games outside of their home areas. We’re getting screwed.

Stupid to waste tax payer dollars on sports teams.

Studies have shown that professional sports teams do not bring all that much money into an area. They just reallocate money that’s already there.

Here’s an article about that:

Dallas doesn’t have an NFL or a MLB team. And the Chief’s owner already lives in the Dallas area. Move them there. Rumor is that Dallas is going to lose its NBA team to Vegas (that rumor must be true - it’s been officially denied).

Dallasites now have to drive to a city without public transit to see a pro football game (closest are Arlington or Houston) or a pro baseball game (Arlington or Frisco). And they may soon have to drive to Oklahoma City to see a pro basketball game.

They talk about economic development as being tied in with building stadiums.

This is such an old tiresome playbook.. Teams demand a new stadium, and threaten to move if they don’t get their new stadium.

Teams have moved sometimes when they don’t get their stadium.

But if a team moves out of town ,,life still goes on.

Professional sports are nice to have in a community, but the key question here is should public tax payer money subsidize those teams.

Kansas City should just tell the Chiefs to move to Topeka if the city will build them a new stadium.

They won't do that so the owner will use his $$$ to renovate his current stadium.

All they have to do is to say no. The taxpayers are fed up.

Buffalo is an unique situation. It's a City in decline in the rust belt so they had to pay up.

How much of a kickback will the Governor get? And why not give the Chief's Big Wigs unlimited access to the Missouri Treasury. The idiots [football fanatics] won't mind. The people who actually pay the taxes may, but who cares about them. They don't count any way.

If you want to make Missouri mad.

Move the Kansas City Chiefs to Overland Park and name them the Kansas State Chiefs.

I believe if owners can pay players those enormous sums, they can build their own stadiums without my input.
Not to mention the high priced food and drink available to fans.

The only ones effected are those who go to the game. The game could be played anywhere for the fans watching on TV. Make them price the tickets to pay for the stadium. If they can’t just play all the games in Florida. Practice there too. The players would save a lot of money in income taxes. They can still call them the KC Chiefs.

We have visited a lot of MLB parks and Kansas City has been our favorite by far. The baseball stadium is really unique now, compared to the cookie cutter brickyards being sold to other cities as "intimate" or "nostalgic". Those words are a euphamism for smaller and way more expensive with bad parking near the bad part of a town.

The second impressive thing is the parking lot is co-located with the Chiefs stadium with freeway access. It is well planned out why change it?

Renovate both stadiums and call it a day - there is NO reason to move. The KC downtown area where they want to build the baseball stadium is among the highest crime areas in the metro, and I highly doubt they’ll ever come to Kansas.

They move a few miles over the line to Kansas City, Kansas? What’s the big deal? They will still have the same fan base.
