“I’m not a color! I’m a person!” #WalkAway from tribalism

A lot of the African immigrants I’ve met put our American college students to shame in terms of intelligence and wisdom.
… and they speak better English.
There was once an effeminate Ottoman;
For the fair sex, I fear he was not a man.
He was all up in arms
Against feminine charms;
“Quite frankly,” he said, “I’m a bottom man.”
mmm hmm
Smart lady. Besides she likes Larry Elder
There’s that.
Same experience here. And they are appalled at American black behavior, lack of achievement, culture, and pride in being ignorant.
I’ve seen a couple of her videos on X. She’s got moxie.

Actual Africans are embarrassed by the behavior of American blacks. She makes some good points. Now if she would only ditch the nose ring and neck tattoos.
Which blows out of the water the theory that blacks are somehow intellectually inferior to whites.
Early childhood development plays a HUGE role in how a person’s innate intellect plays out in life. I suspect that a lot of issues we see among many groups are a result of inadequate or downright bad parenting. And Headstart is NOT the answer. The answer is the parents interaction with the child on a day to day, hour by hour basis.
Dr. James Dobson had some information on that some time ago and I can’t remember where I read it. According to him, the most important window is between 8-18 months, and one of the suggestions that I haven’t found in current lists is to talk to your child like an adult, making eye to eye contact. Do NOT talk baby talk to them or ignore them.
However, I did find this:

A lot of them speak very beautiful English - many were taught by Brits.
The point about ‘praising the effort’ impressed me. It seems that can instill some important messages.
Yup.

Precisely. Praising effort and performance teaches the value and importance of personal effort.
