Turning any minor encounter with police into a felony arrest is their superpower.

The officer was very polite but she was fey and could have run over mothers and children because she had to get to work.

The felony would be all her fault.

Didn't they have had signs showing detours and ways around?

Or did they block off the only way in or out of a parking area?

Which would be kind of dangerous.

My daughter has her own lab in a left coast university. Over the summer she and another researcher took in some interns from a historically black college. These kids couldn’t even perform simple tasks despite being repeatedly shown how to do them. They would leave early, waste hours in the cafeteria, were generally useless and then wanted recommendations. Awkward!

I am just thinking that if the police closed down the only way I had of getting out of my apartment's parking area I would probably be upset too. Not drive on through upset but not happy.

Anyway it sounds like they had blocked in her car, since he did not tell her how to get around but said "I'll just call you a cab." And will you be paying for it?

But still there should be some way to get out if it is a residential street. Blocking it off completely except for a real emergency is not acceptable.

The more I look at this the more it looks like very poor planning by the city.

Like I said, I don't agree with the driving on through but I don't think she was being that unreasonable. Bosses are not understanding about the "my driveway was blocked off because of a street fair and there was no way out" excuse.

Heck the boss was not very understanding about the "water main broke and the street is now a river" excuse.

Why is this thing still up? What is the explanation around how it came to be? What bureaucrat issued the permit? What commission approved it? Who paid for it? Nobody cares.
