- Authorities in a Texas town are trying to determine the origins of a flock of sheep found wandering loose near an elementary school.
The Leander Police Department shared photos on social media showing more than a dozen sheep loitering on a sidewalk and walking across a road.
Police said the sheep were found unaccompanied near Tarvin Elementary School in Leander.
"Do ewe know where your sheep are?" police quipped in the post. "We called Little Bo Peep, she said she found her sheep, and these are not part of her flock."

The school should adopt the sheep and sell the wool.

Whoever the negligent owners are must be feeling pretty sheepish about now.

Mystery sheep.... loitering...
“Mystery” makes me think that something paranormal, extraterrestrial, or even Elvis might be involved.
“loitering” makes me think that the sheep were up to no good. Perhaps they were selling drugs or soliciting sex for money.

Probably, one of the little lambs knocked a fence open while looking for more grass to eat, one thing lead to another, and the rest of the flock blindly followed the ‘leader’.
Where’s a Border Collie when you need one?
The local police are likely calling around to various ranchers, asking if they can ‘temporarily’ adopt the small flock until the real owner is identified. That, or they will need to be what? Put down? I would think it’s expensive to maintain that many sheep. It’s not just one baby lamb, all alone.

I saw the funniest Ring camera video on YouTube the other day where someone's Border Collie escaped his fenced property and brought his sheep up to the house and got them all up on the front porch. The sheep were so confused. As one commenter said, "I have no doubt that if he could have gotten the front door open, those sheep would have all been herded into the house."

Let the cattle go, but don’t give up the sheep.
