Thirty-two passengers were rescued Saturday evening after a multimillion-dollar luxury yacht started sinking off the coast of Miami Beach.
The yacht — a 63-foot Tecnomar for Lamborghini that costs an eye-watering $4 million — was taking on water near Flagler Monument Island, a popular man-made island in Miami's Biscayne Bay.
Multiple agencies, including the U.S. Coast Guard, responded to the scene to help the stranded passengers.
The boat was carrying twice its capacity when it started sinking. The Tecnomar for Lamborghini can hold a maximum of 16 people on board, as noted on the Lamborghini Miami website.
The limited-edition Tecnomar for Lamborghini — created by Lamborghini and The Italian Sea Group — weighs in at 24 tons and can reach a speed of 63 knots, or around 72 miles per hour. The high-end yacht was inspired by Lamborghini's super sports cars, according to the Tecnomar Yachts website.

I saw that, which is why I used a different source.
I was in New Orleans several years ago when there was a big sink hole in Canal Street down by the casino.
True to New Orleans form, they held a big “Sink Hole de Mayo” Party.
The party grew so big they had to move it so no one fell in the hole. 😁
If I were the insurance adjuster I certainly would deny any claim. This was gross incompetence.
Had they been in offshore waters, it could have been a tragic disaster..................
...and every one of them lied about their weight.
Yep, that’s a party!
Indeed. “I’m in this horrifying situation in which my very life is threatened!! I need to tell my besties!” (And also, as some here have noticed, these yayhoos could have easily swum to shore...) Hoping that the agencies involved in their ‘rescue’ are fully reimbursed, given that the number of people on board was twice the boat’s capacity. Someone is responsible for that little bit of idiocy, and it ain’t we taxpayers.
LOL! Sinko de Lambo….
If it’s built for a max of 12 and they had 30 or more on it?
Oh but thank goodness one saved an expensive bottle of liquor. And they kept on making posts and taking selfies?
What’s the point of posting that?
Vessel was severely OVERLOADED. Thats the 1st ticket.
My first thought. A rookie error that's easy to make if you're a rookie captain. Add overcapacity and you have a real party! Everyone in the pool!
Been there done that. Dad had bought an 18’ Bayliner and one day we were out on the river and noticed some water in the stern. We realized what happened, raced back to the dock, pulled it out of the water, screwed it in, put it back in the water and went on our merry way. We didn’t do THAT again.
Yep.
😁..........................
A 2025 pursuit 445 OS outboard starts at a million and a half. A Viking about the size of the yacht that sunk probably would have cost 15% more.
Enough silicon there to keep those ladies afloat until being rescued…lol
