Russian President Vladimir Putin said in comments broadcast on Sunday said that the need to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine had not arisen, and that he hoped it would not arise.

In a fragment of an upcoming interview with Russian state television published on Telegram, Putin said that Russia has the strength and the means to bring the conflict in Ukraine to a "logical conclusion."

I’ve never heard of nuclear weapons being used on a country with nuclear reactors.

I’m not sure why you’d bother. Six Chernobyls would leave the country looking like there had been a nuclear war - and it would be the prime real estate, all along the Dnieper.

Of course, nobody wants that mess, so I doubt they’d want nuclear weapons used.

The destruction of Tokyo was greater and accomplished more deaths but is forgotten because it was not atomic

His economy is in ruins, he has killed or wounded nearly a million of his own countrymen, and Russia remains a pariah among nations.

And yet, Russia is "winning" in the Ukraine.

They paid too much for their victory. But they are not giving back anything they took by conquest.

There is a lesson for us if we pay attention. It is a very ancient lesson. Unrestricted, unapologetic and competent use of superior force is what wins wars. Well, that and sustained logistics.

There will always be another war somewhere. We must pick our fights more carefully and use rules of engagement that give us the advantage.

I understand Rubio is supposed to be there. If not, at least a couple of American ambassadors will be.

Kind of like US intervention in the conflict (/s ;^).

In hindsight, the draft treaty that Ukraine and Russia were working on in early 2022 (Putin drops demand for the “disarmament of Ukraine”; Zelensky agrees not to join NATO; Russia withdraws from eastern Ukraine; Ukraine recognizes Russian Crimea) looks better and better. But what was quite possible three years ago will never happen, after a million (and counting) casualties...

Two bombs.

What is feared is escalation. One side hits the other, the other retaliates. It escalates where dozens of bombs are used causing a nuclear disaster.

In Europe, over 1 billion dead within weeks. Over 300 million dead within minutes.

That much radiation spreads across the globe. Billions dead in months.

I always ask people who say nuclear war isnt disasterous. Do you like breathing, drinking and living with all that radiation? Because the USA set off so many above ground bomb tests, that it spread radiation all across the USA.
The underground tests at the NV test site contaminated the entire ground water Aquifer there. And its seeping towards inhabited areas.

What do people think is going to happen when we overthrow Governments on Russia’s border and arm them to strike Moscow? I am amazed this conflict hasn’t gone nuclear much earlier!

The “lesson here” is to gather basic facts before making blanket statements from our comfy armchairs. The Russian army was defeated and kicked out of large areas of Ukraine. Russia forever is a fairy tale in the minds of only Kremlin Bolsheviks and their useful fools. Putin’s Russia, the biggest country in the world, has an economy of a US state. It is corrupt, weak and Potemkin. Putin’s war economy exists after 3 years of the biggest war in Europe since WW2 only due to the charity of those in the west who fear losing their Anti American partner in Putin.

As Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene warns we cannot be dragged into Ukraine under the pretext of the minerals deal.

Still have soldiers in Syria hanging out at oil and natural gas fields.

The warmongers in Washington have not given up by a longshot...

MTG should tell Putin to accept President Trump’s 30 day ceasefire deal, instead of trying to create divisions within the GOP.

I’ve said this many times on freerepublic but I’ll say it again

I moved to Poland in 2010 and have met, worked with and known quite a few Ukrainians and:

1. Before 2014 the Ukrainians were pretty meh about patriotism. They didn’t care about Ukraine and were local city Patriots if at all

2. Post 2014 to 2022 it was lukewarm patriotism

3. After February 2022, patriotism reached American 1942 levels.

Putin’s 2nd invasion sky rocketed Ukrainians sense of identity.

If he hadn’t invaded, zelensky would have been voted out, NATO would have collapsed and everyone would still believe Russia was super powerful.

Cruz “In Europe, over 1 billion dead within weeks. Over 300 million dead within minutes.”

The total population of Europe including European Russia, is 745 million.

Where is this 1.3 billion people number from? Your imagination?

There was no need to use them and is no need to use them.

Maybe azzhoe green vomit Zelensky could keep his troublemaking mouth shut. Maybe focus on winning the war instead of gallivanting across the globe shooting his big mouth off. Instead he is inciting more misery for Ukrainians with threats that could end up making this response from Russians happen.
