Sounds like what some FR members are also advocating for, today. War enthusiasts love NATO.
They are willing to fight to the last peasant's life, as long as it's not theirs.

I agree. NATO is an aggressive, empire-building, globo-homo organization, which is there only to foment wars while trying to bring on WWIII and total destruction of human-kind and the world.

Right on!
Peasants all over the world had better go back into being cave-dwellers. Otherwise, they'll be cooked under a nuclear war brought on by the world-hating NATO warmongers. Only the super-rich elitists will benefit from what NATO proposes to do. Putin has warned us about NATO, and now YOU have put us on notice too. Thank you. We need more 'thinkers' like you.

Raskin and political activist/rabbi Arthur Waskow co-authored a 1961 paper, later expanded into a book, advocating America’s unilateral disarmament. In 1962 Raskin served as group secretary for a publishing project known as The Liberal Papers, which advocated such measures as United Nations membership for Communist China, East Germany, North Korea, and North Vietnam; America’s unilateral cessation of nuclear testing; the dismantling of NATO; the withdrawal of all American forces from Berlin; and allowing the USSR to access the American DEW early-warning defense system, which had been set up to detect incoming Soviet bombers. Why are the really smart people so politically naive? Or is that they are evil? Or just suffer from childish immaturity!?

That's why McCarthy executed a Democrat SWAN DRIVE from his room at Bethesda!
And, say, wasn't Bethesda where "they" took JFK's body to cover the wounds from the CIA "hit" in Dallas? Caution to Pres. Trump! NEVER GO TO BETHESDA! You'd be safer at the nearest animal hospital!

I did not say that. NATO was good for what it was originally for...as a counter to the USSR.
The USSR does not exist anymore and now we are footing 80% of the costs of NATO for what??
European pissant countries now expect us to carry the load for them and criticize us when we complain that they are using us...

Reality is that, it has been a counter to Russia, and the USSR before that. Otherwise, Russia would still be the USSR,and much bigger than it was as the USSR.
The USSR does not exist anymore and now we are footing 80% of the costs of NATO for what??
The USSR still exists. It changed names to The Russian Federation. Same old empire, new name. Same kind of rulers.
But I agree. The U.S. shouldn't have to pony up for most o the NATO expenses. Trump is taking care of that.
European pissant countries now expect us to carry the load for them and criticize us when we complain that they are using us...
That's changing. Listen to what Trump says and what his administration is doing. Either way, Russia has not expanded much and NATO has been effective at stopping that expansion. Believe it or not. Trump is helpign the EU to become stronger by forcing them to pay their dues in NATO. I'm sure many here don't want a stronger NATO or a stronger EU, but Trump is making it happen.

Either Europe pays its fair share or we need to leave. I can go either way. But pushing NATO all the way to Russia’s border is not a good idea.
Also I want us totally out of Ukraine as far as giving them money, troops, or supplies. Cut them loose now.
If Mexico and Canada aligned with China and set up their troops on our border, we wouldn’t like it either...
