In a startling revelation, Mustafa Uysal, a treasure hunter from Bursa, has claimed to have unearthed an underground city in the Orhangazi district, which he asserts is the true location of the First Council of Nicaea, traditionally believed to have taken place in Iznik. Uysal, who has kept his discovery under wraps for years, is now demanding $50 million to disclose the exact location of this purported archaeological site.
Uysal, who turned to treasure hunting after his retirement, stated that his excavations led him to a significant find: an underground city featuring a sarcophagus cemetery and intricate symbols adorning its long corridors. He emphasized the importance of this discovery for the Christian world, suggesting that it could reshape historical understanding of the First Council, which convened in 325 AD to address critical theological disputes within early Christianity...
"I have found the underground city where the Council was held," Uysal declared in a statement to İhlas News Agency (İHA). "Inside, there are statues of Mary and Jesus Christ, 12 altars surrounding them, and the sarcophagus burial chamber of Princess Niken opposite it." If verified, his claims could have profound implications for historical scholarship and religious heritage.

Not convinced he should get that much money, but it’s a great find.
I spent a terrific week in Turkey before Islamist Erdogan became president. Went with a Jewish friend and we hired a guide who spoke English and drove us all over the country. People were delighted to see Americans then, even unveiled me, and I bought a lot of valuable stuff for very little money. Turks love cats, every stray was well fed. But they hate dogs. We fed stray dogs in every town we visited.
As usual, you post interesting and unusual threads.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks! I think the guy’s also a Nigerian prince, but dunno for sure.
Yeah, that thought ran through my head. Maybe a Mr. Haney type. (Reference to Boomer TV)
$50,000,000 Uh huh....”I know this to be true! A wise old Turk told me so!”
Looks like a great little place.

Did the guy say he has to get that $50 million out of the country, and he would be willing to give you half, to help him do it?
Actually, the prices are not bad for a decadent dessert. Below is a sample of their baclava menu. It was the BEST baclava I’ve ever had and they throw in a piece of “Turkish Delight” with your order, too. I had no idea there were so many different types of baclava.
Baklava
Double Pistachio, $3.60 - Layers of thin, crispy pastry crushed pistachio, and sweet syrup
Double Walnut, $3.00 - Layers of thin, crispy pastry crushed walnut from Turkey, and sweet syrup

The young lady at the counter was very helpful. She told me the name of the cafe, “Oklava,” means “rolling pin” in Turkish.
Yum. But I’m in Spokane.
Turkish toasted and salted pistachios are considered the finest in
the world, w/ extraordinary flavor, from the famed Antep region.
Heck if it can be airlifted daily from Turkey you can certainly get it bussed in to Spokane!
Smile!
Re: Encyclopedia Britannica & Catholic Online.

Thinking about a ‘Guide’ that latched on to me in the Old City of Jerusalem back in the late ‘90s. Couldn’t lose him no matter What I did !
