Although I really do like the architecture of some of the Modern Art Museums.
Especially the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao in Spain.
I’ve seen better paintings at Goodwill..................
Some of those banana sales were merely for the ‘authority’ to tape a banana to a wall...more like the sale of a copyright or ‘permission to use’.
In fairness, some of Pollock’s stuff would make pretty nice floor tile, especially in mud rooms and other heavily trafficked areas where it would disguise a lot of dirt and all around wear.
The kid saw nothing of value. That being valued at that level is nothing but fraud.
Agreed....and the kid added value to it my book..
Who the hell pays 56 million for that steaming pile of garbage?
A lot of that crap, including Pollack was paid for by the CIA with the deliberate goal of demoralization of the USSR somehow. I think it’s pretty obvious they were aiming at the west too.

Rothko was the quintessential East European, post-modern, avant garde, socialist/anarchist/revolutionary, atheistic Jew and abstract impressionist artist of his time
He probably would have approved, or at least, understood what the kid did.
Norm: Sources say the vandalism was discovered when someone finally understood a Rothko painting
THAT is worth $56 million? Where are my Crayolas?
I don’t think Hunter studied art. :-)
I guess I am in the wrong profession, because I can create something like that. I’m even willing to sell then for just 86K. 12-12 a month, and I can rest for the remainder of the year. Because creativity is very taxing, I’m sure. 😋
Just rename it “Grey, Orange on Maroon with Minor Scratches, No. 1.”
The price will, soar to $100 million.
Even I could make a credible forgery of that.
Did the child have large talons?
it looks like one of Hillary’s texts...
Rename it “Child Scratches on Orange Gray on Maroon” and set the value at $560 million.
It’s UGLY, BUT little kids MUST be attended in any museum!!
