The 23-year-old, who quarterbacked under his father at University of Colorado, had been expected to be drafted during the first round. Sanders was also surprisingly passed over by teams for the second and third rounds. Finally, on Saturday, he was selected by the Cleveland Browns during the fifth round as the No. 144 pick.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
Burn on big river, burn on!!
My take is someone from the NFL pressured the Browns to draft him because it was becoming a problem for the NFL. Consider it penitence for paying Watson such a large guaranteed contract that the other owners hated.
Because we skerred of strong young black men. That’s why he was so far down the list. Or some 🐂💨💩
That would’ve happened if he was still available in the 7th round- that’s exactly what happened with Michael Sam.
BTW- Cleveland, like the NY Jets, are quarterback killing franchises...

Someone just texted me this message and they are absolutely correct: “This is a bad look for the NFL. This feels like Kaepernick-level collusion.” All the hard work the NFL League Office puts in to eradicate these kinds of perceptions, only to turn around and watch as the OWNERS look like they’re colluding, messing up everything. What has been done to Shedeur will outshine everything else in this draft. We’ll never believe this is about just talent evaluation again.

Shedeur Sanders:
- Refused to work out at the combine
- Absolutely bombed interviews
- Told teams not to draft him if they weren’t ready to change their franchise & culture
This isn’t collusion. Teams just don’t want him because he expects to run the organization from day one
Goes smokin’ through my dreams, baby.
Just like Chad Kelly, this snub will cause him to go crazy and get himself fired.

NEW: Journalist Tom Pelissero details Shedeur Sanders’ attitude issues, says an NFL coach told him that his interview with Sanders was the worst formal interview he ever had.
Sanders also was allegedly dictating to teams “how he wanted things to go.”
The comment comes as many are accusing the NFL of being racist for not picking Sanders in the first 3 rounds.
“Throughout the pre-draft process, Shedeur Sanders very much proceeded as if he was dictating to clubs where he was going to go rather than how the draft works, which is the other way around.”
“Some of his formal interviews did not go well. An assistant coach told me, in all his years, it was the worst formal interview he’d ever been through.”
“People said that Shedeur was trying to dictate how he wanted things to go and made them feel small.”
It’s Johnny Manziel all over again.
Completely silly. Any “problem” there might have been happened when he dropped below 10. of course there never was going to be a “problem”, because, well nobody actually cares. And the other owners didn’t hate the Watson contract. They mostly laughed and knew that the Browns wouldn’t be competitive for a while.
My guess is that the Browns will give him a year. If there's too much "drama", they'll cut him.
What was his score on the Wonderlic Test?

Cleveland now has 5 QBs on the roster with the best being 40 yo Joe Flacco.
Manziel had natural talent ...
Dunno about Wonderlic but Wunderlich is a common name in Cleveland.
That element of nepotism at the college level gives the whole thing a bad look. Then dressing like one of the Ringling Bros clowns doesn’t help either. The whole showboat thing has a way of killing team morale-—especially until one produces something on the field.
It was the largest guaranteed contract at the time and the other owners knew they would be pressured to provide similar contracts. Watson’s was $230 million guaranteed. At the time the next largest was $150.3 million to Rodgers.
