The arrogance of these people is unbelievable.
Once a cop or cops realize that they are under persistent, sustained attack with the goal being to overcome them and end their mission, by one or by multiples, then they should do whatever is required to maintain their position.
There used to be a 1950s story about a Texas Ranger in a trailer park to question or arrest someone and the Mexican men formed a threatening crowd against him, so he got his Thompson submachine gun out of his car trunk and raked the ground with it.
The Texas Rangers of old did not yield, they delivered as much force or violence as was required to maintain their lawful authority and to complete their task.

They are testing out a new business venture; Pick a fight with a cop and see if you sue for police brutality. It worked for lots of BLM rioters.
Why do they almost always react that way? No respect for authority. Two of the cops were assaulted and probably nothing will be done, and yet they wonder why is doesn’t stop. Throw those girls in jail for 6 months and try to send a message that it won’t be tolerated in the future. Sadly, most people in CA don’t seem to know right from wrong, so they’ll go after the cops.
Tazing works well in this instance. While the main perpetrators are doing the tuna on the floor, you can arrest the ones on the periphery. Then arrest the tuna.

When defending yourself or other innocent people, violence is often the appropriate solution.
