The United States is proposing to recognize Russia's illegal annexation of Crimea and freeze the war's front lines as part of a peace agreement, The Washington Post reported on Tuesday, citing several people familiar with deliberations.

The U.S. proposals were presented to Ukraine in Paris last week, according to the Post.

PIF is a #NeverTrump Zeeper who never misses an opportunity to disparage Trump and his peace process. In this case with a misleading lie.

I don’t like it but what else can be done ? Russia won’t give up crimea without a lot of dead soldiers (on both sides).

America should recognize Eastern Ukraine, including Crimea and the rest of the land east and south of the river, as permanently aligned with Russia.

Russia should, in turn, recognize America’s right to 50% of the natural resources in that area in perpetuity.

Historically, Crimea is Russian and was only moved to Ukraine administratively inside the USSR. The people there are mostly Russian and they want to be part of Russia.

The war will end, peace will ensue, and people will live.

These will be good things.

That works for me.

And Zelensky should be exiled to any South American Banana Republic. Maybe there he can be El Presidente for Life.

Would that Vladolf Putler had heeded Alexander Isaiavich Solzhenitzyn’s recommendations contained in his book Rebuilding (obostroyim is better translated “rearranging”) Russia, that Crimean bases would be jointly shared, and that 2014 discoveries of large oil reserves in Donbass, Crimea, and Luchansk had not whetted Putler’s lust for more money.

I admire the Ukranian grandmas who handed packs of sunflower seeds to invading Russian soldiers and told them, “Keep these in your pockets so your mothers will be able to find your corpses.”

Slava Ukrainii. Slava Eroilor.

Crimea is a lost cause. Whether that’s moral or not, it simply is.

________________________________________

It’s moral in the sense that hundreds of thousands of lives would be spared if Trump aligned with Putin to end the war.

Much in the same way atomic bombs ending the war in Japan which saved millions of lives was also the moral thing to do.

US proposes recognizing Crimea as Russian, and so rewarding Putin even more. “Invasion pays”, says Putin. “I agree”, says Xi Jinping, “the US is a paper tiger, like we’ve been saying for decades.”

All us AntiWar Freepers want you to go show your mettle on the battlefield in Ukraine. You can represent America by fighting for your first love! I will start the GoFundMe! Show that America is tough as nails and not a paper tiger. Many of us served in wartime. Now’s your chance!! Make us PROUD!!!

That isn't going to be good enough.

All areas under Russian control need to be recognized as Russian.

The people in those areas DO NOT want to be part of Ukraine again.

I believe the nudger talking points are to propose fantasy/impossible kindergarten terms intended to make any agreement possible,.

though as a class they seem a bit muted or at least lacking useful guidance on how to handle the negotiations.

Russia can not end the war on its own; it is addicted to power and conquest. Further, Putin would be killed or deposed, in the best of circumstances, should the war end under any terms other than complete control of UKR, with the right to create buffer regions - to include the Baltics, Romania, Bulgaria, Poland and Germany.

Anything else is a fantasy.

There are no concessions acceptable to Russia other the the terms it has laid down.

There will be no peace until Russia is soundly defeated militarily. Period.
