The United States is proposing to recognize Russia's illegal annexation of Crimea and freeze the war's front lines as part of a peace agreement, The Washington Post reported on Tuesday, citing several people familiar with deliberations.

The U.S. proposals were presented to Ukraine in Paris last week, according to the Post.

“...proposing to recognize Russia’s illegal annexation of Crimea...”

I’d bet that went over like a fart in church, on a hot Sunday morning, with the Z-fag.

This could be another whistleblower search. Until I hear from the Administration I don’t believe anything these rags print

If the Z-fag as you call him won’t get off his @$$ and do something - ANYTHING! - to end this war, then it’s up to the adults to act.

And if that means Trump allowing Russia control over Crimea.... so be it.

I don’t have any problem with that plan, but I’m pretty sure the Z-fag does. He just to be spoon-fed our money; he doesn’t contribute ANYTHING.

> US proposes recognizing Crimea as Russian… <

Some folks would see that as distasteful, or worse. That’s understandable. But it’s also an acknowledgement of reality. Russia will not give up the Crimea without a fight, and a bloody one at that.

So the only question is what Russia will offer in return for that recognition. Biden - or Harris - would certainly get played there.

Trump, however, will drive a harder bargain.

Crimea is a lost cause. Whether that's moral or not, it simply is.

Of course it would, it would be like the Continental Congress proposing to give the Eastern seaboard to the British.

But it doesnt matter much since they’re already socialist, heading for Islamic.

US proposes recognizing Crimea as Russian, and so rewarding Putin even more. “Invasion pays”, says Putin. “I agree”, says Xi Jinping, “the US is a paper tiger, like we’ve been saying for decades.”

A miracle could return Crimea to Ukraine.

Until then, it has to be conceded that all things Crimean are potentially part of the negotiation.

OooooohWEEEEE though, is this ever going to burn some Ukie-worshipper biscuits!

The only open question is where the lines are going to be drawn in the east. Russia is keeping Crimea and a land link to it.

This quote is a lie, either take it down or post the attribution.

Nothing new here.

Pretty much everyone in government in the EU and US know this is the reality of the situation.

Others here fully reject the notion of negotiating with Putin on any issue of importance based on there being no basis to trust him or the Russians to keep to their word.

If you are not necessarily in that camp, you must explore where the cards may lay, to evaluate where concessions by the U.S. are possible.

In any event, the U.S. Senate in its power of ratification should be prepared here to vote a full-blown treaty either up or down.

PIF is clearly surmising what Putin’s and Xi’s respective reactions would be, or will be, if the U.S. sets out to recognize Russian sovereignty over Crimea.

Take it seriously, not literally.

Russia would place at least some value on the U.S. committing not to dispute the former’s ongoing control of Crimea. Would it not?
