US mortgage giant, Fannie Mae, has laid off 200 employees, mostly Telugus, over salary fraud, according to a report. The employees allegedly misused the company's matching gift programme by collaborating with Telugu associations. An Indian-American Congressman has sought the company's response on the mass lay-offs.

Payoffs were expected. When my brother would fly in country , there would be a Standard Oil employee that would greet him at the airport, that person would handle all required payoffs . So much goes to the security guys , the Customs guys gets X amount, so on and so forth. No payoff, do not pass Go.
This used to be called “Telegu.” I guess they are changing everything in India. Bombay->Mumbai. Calcutta->Kolkata.
Indians are generally nefarious and lawless.
Speaking of nefarious and lawless, Mr. Congressman, you are an American. You are not an Indian-American Congressman. You are also, a POS.
Telugus...you known, the ones who do the needful.
No overseas, foreign workers should be on the job for any USA agencies, period.
But you all know this.
They are heathens in the classic sense of the word.
Do not expect Christian or Western values from them. They are from a different culture. One which does not recognize or even respect Western civilization -except for what they can take from it.
It has to do with them being heathens and pagans.
In doing business internationally I always selected countries that had a Christian and/or Catholic heritage. At least in such places the bad guys knew they were doing bad.
“There seems to be an overwhelmingly disproportionate amount of fraud and scams associated with Indians...”
In my area, it’s the Somalis.
Total sleazebags, frauds and scammers.
So, I think they are going to challenge everything the Trump administration does.
Hiring people from India is a mistake for many companies. It starts slow at first, but they soon will take over the office as they only hire their own.
You go from 10% to 15% in less than 6 months and before long, you feel like the foreigner in your own country.
There is a reason over 50% of scammers are from India...
“Sounds like they were remote employees in India. Setting up fake charities to cash in on Fannie Mae’s matching donations. They get creative over there on how to rip off Americans. Robo calls, fake charities, you name it.”

FTA:
“The 200 Indian-American staffers were employees of the Federal National Mortgage Association, commonly known as Fannie Mae, the biggest American company in terms of assets. Fannie Mae laid off 700 staffers, including those for fraud, as part of its restructuring efforts. It is a US government-run enterprise.
The alleged ethical violations are linked to irregularities and misuse of Fannie Mae’s matching grants programme.
This payment is an extension of the salaries of the employees. It is a compensation to what the employees donate under the matching gift programme.
The now-sacked employees allegedly collaborated with nonprofit organisations — some linked to the Telugu community in the US — and falsified donations to exploit the programme and access company funds.
Several employees are accused of colluding with the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) to deceive companies and misuse funds, according to The Times of India report.”
“Similar allegations surfaced against employees at tech-company Apple earlier this year. The company reportedly terminated over 100 employees, including around 50 at its Cupertino headquarters, after uncovering a monetary fraud scheme designed to inflate employee compensation.
Authorities in the Bay Area had issued warrants against six of the fired Apple employees — none of whom were Indian.
However, reports indicated that several Indian employees were involved in misusing Telugu charity organisations in the US for fraudulent activities.
The scheme reportedly involved employees pretending to make donations, which were later returned to them. Apple’s matching contributions were retained, and the fictitious donations were written-off on the defendants’ tax returns, defrauding the state of California in the process.”

It appears that the employees were NOT in India in a call center. They may even be American citizens.
My question is why so many employees of Fannie Mae are from the same ethnic group. Doesn’t sound like they had a very diverse workplace, does it?
I wonder if these are the same people involved in this:

Or a different group, doing different fraud.
According to one of the comments to the earlier piece I just posted.
“Bill Pulte (Director of Fed Housing Agency) was on Laura Ingraham. He said he couldn’t explain all the accusations of the fired employees because they’re just starting the investigation.
He did say many were working 2 jobs. He also mentioned employees gave donations to an ‘internal company charity’, and got a kickback for doing that.
Finally, he mentioned that, based on IP addresses, he could tell they were having friends swipe their ID card in at the office (in DC, I guess?) but they were actually logging in from China. He showed video of the DC office completely full of workers, so I guess people were trying to pretend they had returned to the office, and had another job somewhere else. Not sure if the China location is important, or just that they weren’t in the office as required.”
