Junk science at NOAA about to come to an end
American Thinker ^ | 14 Apr, 2025 | Bill Ponton

I never thought that I would see the day when the junk science at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, NOAA, came to an end. The Trump administration recently leaked news that it intends to eliminate the research arm of NOAA. I am not kidding when I say that I have been awaiting this moment for over thirty years.

NOAA researchers have been fomenting lies and distortions about climate from the moment they set foot in the place. At NOAA, they found an outlet to express the environmental radicalism that they absorbed in college classes and late-night bull sessions. The junk science that they cranked out has been used by mainstream media and cultural elites to perpetuate a panic about the weather and climate. It was a comical farce that they created, weaving tales about storms of biblical proportion due to a trace element in the atmosphere that happens to be the basis of all life.

Why aren’t they charged for fraud? They have caused billions of dollars to be wasted.

Thank God!!!!!!

If they focused on weather forecasting, they might be able to improve on it and actually save lives.

So glad to see this!

Here's an every now and then FReeper reminder that our Modern Warm Period is nothing new under the sun (pun intended).

No more qualified immunity for bureaucrats who use public institutions to push private money-making schemes.

It’s 2025 and no one can tell me with any certainty if it’s going to rain
tomorrow or not.

They could turn NCAR into a hiker trailhead parking lot. A bigger one than it already is.

NOAA also ignored Fukushima (ongoing) radioactive isotope migration to the west coast.

Fire them all. Start over. NASA, too. We all know there are others as well.

So?

It’s weather. A fluid, constantly moving target with LOT of variables. Meteorology is a study in fluid dynamics and until you can understand and control THAT system in an open system, good luck being precise everywhere all the time.

Nor do meteorologists have a complete profile of the atmosphere. They take spot measurements that give data for specific locations.

So if you think it’s that easy, take some meteorology classes and get back to us and show us how to do it to forecast the exact forecast for ever location on the planet.

The forecasts are good and getting better is my experience. There are geographic features that affect the weather in substantial ways but NWS does a good job considering them. Combine their work with what I consider a top notch app - RadarScope - and am well set for ornithology work over the summer.

And a not funny or clever one at that.

Old and worn out.

Not a meteoroligist by any stretch, but it does seem to me that our local forecast where I live has gotten much better in the last few years.

NOAA also ignored Fukushima (ongoing) radioactive isotope migration to the west coast.

The original idea of helping scientists with grants had the best of intentions then it devolved into the usual slush fund for parasites. Average IQ types walking around saying 'Anyone got an idea for something to research - gotta have some money for travel next year'. And the response? "I hear big grants are given for 'climate change' research ...and few strings attached. Almost no oversight..."

We need to start a list of the things Trump has exposed during his 45 and 47 presidencies.

I would start the list with FAKE NEWS.

Basic Geology courses teach a history of Climate Change. One starts getting the basic concepts in Freshman Geology. The first block of learning is from Hutton’s theory of uniformitarianism. National Geographic defines it thusly: The principle of uniformitarianism says that the present is the key to the past. This principle has had a profound impact on the science of geology. Climate Change Scientists have thrown their education away for a few bucks and leftist philosophy.

Yup.

Those elitists who perverted it all also still have their freedom/pensions.

More crimes, no justice.
