NATIONAL BEER DAY HISTORY
On April 7, 1933, President Franklin Roosevelt took the first step toward ending Prohibition and signed a law that allowed people to brew and sell beer, in the United States, as long as it remained below 4.0% alcohol by volume (ABV). Beer drinkers celebrated and were happy to be able to purchase beer again for the first time in thirteen years. The celebration by beer drinkers was dubbed National Beer Day.
Our research found the National Beer Day showing up in 2009 on social media after Justin Smith, a Richmond, Virginia Craft Beer Examiner, and his friend Mike Connolly from Liverpool, England created a Facebook page celebrating National Beer Day. The date corresponded with the date the Cullen-Harrison Act was signed into law and became active. On their National Beer Day Facebook page, the duo invited friends to join, and word spread to many sources.

Is Milwaukee still ‘Famous’?............

I recall those commercials, year after year.
I come from Detroit, Mich. Used to ride by a Strohs brewery on my way to school.
beer runs in my veins every day so every day is beer day! that goes double today.
Beer! It’s not just for breakfast anymore. And as the late, great philosopher and musician Jim Morrison once said, “Well I woke up this morning and I got myself a beer. The future’s uncertain and the end is always near.”

Guess you have to like beer to appreciate this day.
I personally can’t stand the taste or smell - husband loved it so we visited craft breweries up and down the state so he could taste local brews.
The darker and stronger, the better! Have no idea how he was able to drink those double IPAs and Imperial Stouts, but he was in heaven when he had them.
He requested “Old Rasputin” when he was dying, a brew from Northern Califoria. We celebrate with Old Rasputin on his birthday every year, I have iced tea, my usual drink.
Ive got most of their catalog on vinyl. Superb musicians from a forgotten era.
Miller High Life..................
Excellent! I’m jealous!
Oh, yes. That was Miller’s.
The old brewery is gone and replaced by something called Stroh’s River Place.
The darker and stronger, the better!...........
Yes, dark beer is/was my favorite!
Can’t drink any more.......................😥
That sounds very generic. It could be anything.
I want too say it’s some kind of combination office, residential and river walk complex. I’d look it up but I need to go out and get beer.
I don’t drink a lot, but the best beer I remember was the cold beer served on a British Airline 747 headed from Moscow to London back in 1993 after a visit to Russia and Kazakhstan where you could not get a cold drink anywhere. It might have been Guinness but I can’t remember.

What beer is best for beer cheese dip? The best beer for beer cheese dip depends on how much you like beer. This recipe calls for a strong, hoppy IPA, which brings a big "beer-y" flavor to the party. If you're a fan of milder beers, opt for a pilsner or a lager. Stout beers are delicious, but be aware that they might affect the color of the dip. What type of cheese goes in beer cheese dip? This recipe calls for two different types of cheese: fontina and sharp cheddar. The sharp cheddar gives the dip some bite while the rich, sweet fontina adds depth and balance. Plus, both cheeses melt beautifully into the dip! Gruyère can be used in place of the fontina if you prefer. For the best creamy texture, buy blocks of cheese and shred them yourself. Pre-shredded bagged cheeses have additives that keep them from melting as smoothly.
