Chief Justice Roberts, Norm Eisen, and the appearance of impropriety
American Thinker ^ | 5 Apr, 2025 | Andrea Widburg

News broke over the last couple of days that one of Chief Justice John Roberts’s good buddies is Norm Eisen, one of the chief instigators of the plot to destroy Donald Trump through Deep State manipulation and lawfare. Under a long-standing federal rule of judicial conduct banning even the “appearance of impropriety,” Justice Roberts’s close relationship with Eisen means he should step down.

We all know who John Roberts is. He’s the squish who leapfrogged from having been an appellate court judge for only two years to suddenly being Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Since then, he embedded Obamacare in America and has rather consistently sided with the Court’s activist justices on issues that, as a matter of constitutional law and Supreme Court precedent, deserved originalist outcomes.

Most egregiously, when Roberts presided over the first impeachment against Trump—which conservatives believe was to keep people from learning about Joe Biden’s corrupt dealings in Ukraine through his son Hunter—he ensured that Trump was denied basic due process. To that end, he denied Trump access to any of the proceedings in the House and to Democrat witnesses, and Trump was not allowed to bring his own witnesses. This was the first time in history that impeachment, a proceeding with roots in medieval England, was carried out without due process for the accused. Heck, even a drug dealer would have had more rights.

Not everyone, though, knows much about Norm Eisen, although they should. Eisen rose to prominence in 2007, when he campaigned for his fellow Harvard law classmate, Barack Obama. Obama rewarded Eisen (ironically) with a role in “ethics” and “government reform.” Also ironically, Eisen aggressively pushed for greater government transparency, the very thing that Elon Musk is now making happen and that Democrats are burning Teslas to stop.

” He’s not blackmailed, that’s who he is.”

I believe that also.

He’s not a good person and still largely tries to hide his real being.

This is repeated here over and over.
How secret can blackmail.material really be if the Dems found it and are indeed using it over Robert’s?
Cannot our side with the NDA and FBI look up the same info and reveal it, denying it any further power to queen Robert’s votes by blackmail? Anyone here opinion?!!!

I noticed that here on Free Republic, the only justices who seem to be universally admired are Thomas and Alito. The others are regularly criticized for one reason or another.

I was trying to find a score card or ranking of justices, to see how often they have been able to affirm conservative rulings, amd how often they have gone liberal.

Just one time. Her treason is still there and comes up right when we need her.

Recently Roberts went overseas to meet and spend the weekend at one of Eisen’s mansions in Europe. That way, the Chief Justice of the USSC doesn’t commit a crime US courts can’t prosecute for lack of jurisdiction. Obviously, Trump was not similarly invited.

Interesting how Barrett is more conservative than Kavanaugh, but Amy Coney Barrett has been criticized a lot here recently.

But as we all know, some Supreme Court court cases are higher profile and make the news more than others.

I don’t wonder, to me it’s obvious.

He was selected to be the Chief Justice, groomed and compromised years before his installation.

No one sitting alone reaches that ridiculous mobius strip of unsound reasoning he used to save Obamacare. It clearly was the result of some conversation where he was TOLD he was saving it and it didn’t matter how or if it looked desperate or even if it destroyed his reputation. He was ordered to do it.

I don’t believe it matters much whether he is being blackmailed or not. If he is being blackmailed one way he could be blackmailed the other way just by being found out. He does what he does and that is the problem. Speculating on blackmail is not particularly helpful.

Roberts and Barrett should both resign, now.

If a conservative judge had done this against that brain-dead sniffer Biden the MSM would be screaming bloody murder. But since they sold out years ago - we'll hear crickets from them.

Right after the Obamacare decision, Roberts left for the University of Malta, who coincidentally employed Russiagate’s Josef Mifsud. And Malta at the time was know as a ‘safe banking haven’ for shady purposes. Small world! That was 2012.
