Starting in the 1950s, the Soviets sent moles in to shape opinion at colleges, in the media, and in entertainment. We are seeing their success now, even though the USSR has collapsed. They managed to entrench enough socialist ideas that even though the USSR collapsed, its ideology is still going strong.
