Fascism IS a form of socialism. All these “command-and-control” economic theories boil down to a few stark realities, among them is a strict hierarchy of the favored and the disfavored. The winners and losers are selected by a small oligarchy who sits in control, usually by some force of arms which is not afforded to the masses. The means of production are subject not to any rules of supply and demand, but of control of the distribution of goods and services kept intentionally at scarcity levels. Some minority is made to be the focus of all hostility, and their presence is charged as the reason why the “fair” distribution of goods and services is so difficult to achieve.

I’d go the other way - fascism is one of socialism’s many flavors. All fascism has a socialist element. On the other hand, it is one of the milder forms of socialism
