Jim Hanson Productions which was sold to Disney.

Explains why they’ve destroyed Marvel and Srar Wars. Turned them into Muppets. Darth Ernie.

What the children don’t know won’t hurt them.

Sesame Workshop is the world wide non profit exclusively making bank from sales of everything Sesame Street, since 1961.

Gave our kid a Tickle Me Elmo for her birthday. Blonde wife picked it out.
I was shocked to see when she opened it, Elmo had a ball sack sewn on!
When Blondie explained, I said, “No! No, I said give it a couple test tickles!”

oh please. Who made all the money from the Sesame Street juggernaut? The licensing, the merchandising, the movies, the TV show. All of those made money. Where is it?

Years ago when my governor wanted more taxes, he had all the state parks closed so that the citizens were not allowed in.

I didn't watch Sesame Street as a kid because it wasn't on TV yet. I have my doubts it has any lasting positive effect on children's learning--or else the studies proving it would be quoted all the time.

Sesame comes from Greek (both "e" letters are etas; in Greek the accent falls on the alpha). It is believed to be a word of Semitic origin.

I suppose that means anyone who wants to get rid of Sesame Street can be accused of anti-Semitism.

What crap. PBS has plenty of eminently streamable content they can and are taking advantage of. They also have fans sending in donations.

Amen to that!

In the early eighties PBS produced and broadcast many of the Shakespeare plays. Apparently they only broadcast them once or one season.

Sure they could say that was because of their contract but it was probably a buyers market, so they could have found some players to do Shakespeare.

Their goal is to subsidize the left, including Artists, not to entertain the Public , so if they present Shakespeare they have to wait a few years and fund another whole production.

The streaming media have satisfied the public’s every appetite, so let’s terminate PBS little leftist feast.

“Years ago when my governor wanted more taxes, he had all the state parks closed so that the citizens were not allowed in.”

That was the first thing that Gov. Gruesome did here in CA. We have a beautiful 1,400 “Foothills Park” near us on the San Francisco Peninsula. The coned-off the parking lot, put up “Do not enter” signs and put yellow caution tape on the park benches. People should be outside in the fresh air getting sunshine. There was ZERO chance of a wild virus particle getting you there.

But out was the standard government approach — do something for maximal suffering of the citizens.

I love your story about the Greek Eta letters and wanting to shut down Sesame Street is antisemitic! Nice connections there. That makes me think of James Burke’s old TV show “Connections.” (a great show if you never saw it)

Ana Gasteyer on SNL did a good parody of PBS as “Dusty Muffin” the unctuous observer of life, with a stick up her ***, until PBS became a parody of itself: see their CEO appearing before congress recently: “Liberal? Us?”

Well, since "sesame" is from Greek and ultimately from the Near East, and because "street" is from Latin stratum, both words need to be avoided because of cultural appropriation, or because they represent white supremacy. Or something like that.

Some of the cast have been working directly for the government for years. DOGE found this EPA inspector at the Pacific Palisades wildfire sites:

Sesame Street owners make alot of money and they do not reimburse the taxpayer at all. Kick them to the curb.
