The Indian Ocean Has the World's Largest Gravity 'Black Hole' and It's Finally Explained

If you look at a map of Earth's gravity, you will see a huge blue spot south of India, indicating a region where gravity is weaker than average. This spot is called the Indian Ocean Geoid Low (IOGL), and it is the largest gravity anomaly on our planet.

A gravity anomaly is a difference between the actual gravity measured at a location and the theoretical gravity expected for a perfectly smooth and spherical Earth. But Earth's gravity isn't perfectly uniform and variations in mass distribution beneath the surface cause fluctuations in gravitational pull.

Gravity anomalies can be caused by variations in the density and thickness of Earth's crust, mantle and core. Denser areas have a stronger pull, while less dense regions exert a weaker one. These anomalies affect the shape of the ocean surface, which is not flat but follows the contours of Earth's gravity field. This shape is called the geoid, and it is what we would see if we removed all the effects of tides, winds and currents from the ocean. The geoid is often visualized as a potato-like shape, with bumps and dips corresponding to high and low gravity regions.

The IOGL is one of the most prominent dips in the geoid, covering an area of about 3 million square kilometers, almost the size of India itself. Due to the low gravity there, the sea level over the IOGL is up to 106 m (348 ft) lower than the global average. That means if you were to sail across the IOGL, you would be closer to Earth's center than anywhere else on the ocean.

I had to ask Grok to verify, because I think you are correct!
..
It helps to have an MS in physics but, I’m a little rusty. Grok is pretty cool. I ask him questions about life, the universe and everything. He supports my argument about climate science, that increases in CO2 in the atmosphere is not going to be catastrophic. He’s keen on philosophical concepts but not schooled on supernatural ideas.
I asked a question about the possibility that the powers-that-be are performing rituals to bring the Antichrist, i.e. the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics, the opening of portals at CERN and the opening ceremony of the Gotthard Tunnel on June 1, 2016. When I argued the following, I got a tilt answer “try again later.” Grok seems overly supportive of non-Christian positions. But the Grok AI is based on logic and reason, science based. The supernatural is a weak spot.

Argument to Grok: (try again later).
Revisiting the Gotthard Tunnel ceremony. Near the end of the ceremony, a man with a beast head simulated intercourse with a woman. The jumbotron on the stage displayed a circular shaped spinning vortex, it seemed to represent an extradimensional portal. The woman appeared later, very pregnant. It appeared that woman gave birth to the Antichrist. You may discard this event as artistic but the spiritual significance was compelling and shocking. I think that the powers-that-be know exactly what they are doing. The so-called Deep State wants to bring about the Great Reset, ushering in the rise of the Antichrist.

Hahahaha...probably the third time I have used one of these AI tools, but I had just finished a diatribe about the inability to find anything in traditional search engines.

That said, your response about the Gotthard Tunnel ceremony was hilarious!

In light of this, I think I see why the Leftists have their panties in a twist over AI, and why our current Administration wants to have the prominent hand in AI development: If the Leftists don't control it, they are afraid that AI is going to tell the truth!

I saw this in my mind's eye thinking of you asking a machine a question like that:
