We want to know who feels freer to speak in this moment, who feels they're being forced into silence, and the extent to which the right to free speech, as protected by the U.S. Constitution, might be changing for different people, for better or worse.
Fill out the form below and an NPR journalist may reach out for an upcoming story.

I want to defund NPR—how is that for free speech?
Lol.
Depends upon who is listening.
Xackly
Trick question! There is no free speech at NPR!
If there is one thing that Admiral Ackbar knows.
If I told them what I think, they’d hunt me down like a dog.
Radio host Chris Plante calls them National Panhandlers Radio because they mooch millions from taxpayers and donors.
I spout off an FR about things I would not talk about except with people I know and trust. Someone wants to hunt me up because I think the trans thing is crazy is welcome. I have several layers of security. But I’ve seen people go physical because a complete stranger to them is wearing a MAGA hat. Since using deadly force to protect myself is an option and I don’t want to do that, I limit the possibility of coming into contact with crazy as much as possible. From that aspect, I self-censer.
And these people want to collect my personal deets on this matter?
So, you’ve pretty much gotta be an NPS listener to even know about this, then you gotta have the desire to do this. Talk about a biased and captive audience.
Just wait for the story they come out with. I’m sure it will be “super” accurate.
How is it changing NPR? That’s an awfully accusatory statement with nothing to back it up.
YES! I can exercise my free speech rights. just not in public.
RE: If I told them what I think, they’d hunt me down like a dog.
Yes. As Bob Dylan once sang:
And if my thought-dreams could be seen
They’d probably put my head in a guillotine.
It’s alright, Ma, I’m only bleeding.

And in Motorpsycho Nitemare
“Without freedom of speech,
I might be in the swamp.”
“””I spout off an FR about things I would not talk about except with people I know and trust.”””
I’m behind enemy lines in Occupied Territory of Minneapolistan. I am very careful about what I say in public. Fortunately, I don’t like people so I have limited contact with the species.
It’s the left that hates free speech and has suppressed it.
I listen to NPR for the comedy! Listening to leftists twist the truth, spin their agenda and just straight out lie is hilarious!
Well, let’s see...
Walk through a Republican stronghold wearing a Biden/Harris shirt, nothing happens except some jeering and mocking. Wear a MAGA shirt through a Democratic stronghold and prepare for lawsuits and beatdowns.
Think that kinda sums it up. That said, I went to NPR and did their thing. Figure it eats up resources to be ignored.
Surd, they’ll promote any leftist freak who wants the microphone but
Speak truth on say COVID, Hunters laptop or Trump Russia and you’ll never get to use their mic.
Did I miss NPR’s apology for who they been?
