I have no idea if the Tesla houses are a concept or hoax, but Ft Bliss has 3d printed barracks to see how they hold up.

OK, I see your point. It just seems odd that Tesla would allow such speculation with no basis in fact. Musk should sue or whatever to stop it.
Wife and I downsized 3 years ago. Found a good deal on a finished 14X40 and had it moved on our 13 acres on the side of a mountain.. I had a 10X16 bedroom added on along with a wrap around porch. About 720SF living space and we are quite happy with it. So, no spare bedroom means no emergency move ins by anybody, of course my kids live many states away anyhow. Pet door for the dogs and cats, they come and go as they please, no close neighbors and a great overlook of a 200 acre hayfield.
So about $30/sf? No thanks. And 240sf, intolerable. My house is over 4000sf and sometimes that doesn’t seem like enough.
Just a glorified RV, IMO. Not something I’d want to be cooped up in. And how does this fit in with the “15-minute city concept” the left is always pushing? The term “sustainable” was constantly used in this presentation - code for UN/WEF control of every aspect of human existence. That plan would include biosphere reserves, wildlife corridors, buffer zones, and the rest of the Agenda 2021 (now Agenda 2030) totalitarian “Logan’s Run” centrally planned future.
Where do I buy that? That is bitchin!!

It’s doable. Some people live aboard boats in very small spaces. Some people go walkabout in RVs for a few years. The Tesla Tiny House would be perfect for the Silicon Valley pod people who are dedicated to staying unmarried and childless, but now that Musk is associated with it, they’ll all walk away. Or wait until China markets a knockoff.
