He campaigned for Liz Cheney the year she got annihilated in the primary.
Lol.
Well, bye. Another horrible RINO gone.
Yep and it would have beenbetter if he dies at 73 instead of 93
I saw him at a funeral about 5 years ago in Casper. He was hunched over but very tall.
Yup—he got a fat pension for being a dismal failure as a Senator.
Hey, wait a sec there! I’m 73!
Burn Alan burn. I have more respect for crooked Democrats who dont hide what they are.
who gives a sht about a politician
“he rose from mere poverty to become one of the most corrupt politicians in history”
that’s amazing!
oh lord have mercy on his soul!
give me a break
Senator Alan Simpson was a son of Milward Simpson, who was a governor of Wyoming. Milward Simpson was the son of Fincelius “Finn” Burnett.
Finn Burnett was one of 31 men who held off an attacking force of about 800 Lakota and Arapaho warriors at the legendary “Hayfield Fight” on August 1, 1867. The survival of these defenders is a tale of courage and tenacity.
They fought ALL DAY from a hay-cutting “coral” about 3 miles from Fort C.F. Smith built along the Bozeman Trail.
The U.S. military eventually withdrew from the fort and it was burned to the ground by the Lakota. The outline of the fort still can be seen at the town of Fort Smith, Montana, along the Bighorn River. The town sits on the Crow Reservation.
Two of the defenders were killed but the fight was so intense, the attacking warriors finally retreated late in the afternoon.
Finn Burnett gave a detailed account of that fight and many of his exploits of the early days, on the frontier to his granddaughter. You can read those details in the book: “Finn Burnett: Frontiersman.” The book is widely available.
His net worth in 2025 is reported at $5 million, so he was definitely a piker ....
Have you noticed that nowadays everyone who dies is “surrounded by family and friends”? I’m probably part of a minuscule minority, but I don’t find the notion of drawing my final breath while “surrounded” at all appealing or comforting.
“Former U.S. Sen. Alan Simpson died early this morning in Cody surrounded by family and friends, according to a statement from the family.
He was 93.” I’m actually a bit surprised that he wasn’t still in office.
Alan Simpson was the leader of the no borders needed Republicans.
His name was on the destructive 1986 amnesty bill, one of Reagan’s two greatest mistakes. The second being Bush as his VP.
